Dr just called and said platelets are down and they canceled chemoo for monday.
This depresses me as this happened last month, but this tine they are down lower than last month.

Please pray God will bring them back up by Monday, as I get retested then.

Is anyone else having this problem?

    Yes
I had this happen twice last time I went through chemo. They would give me a blood transfusion and then I could have the chemo. The blood transfusion really gave me my energy back fast.

I don't know if this will help but when my blood counts were going down she told me to start drinking Gator Aid G-2. I now drink at least a 32 oz bottle a day and haven't had any trouble with my blood work. She said it seems to work and it did with me might be worth a try. Lots of prayers coming your way. Stay strong.

I made it through 5 out of 6
I made it through 5 out of 6 sessions with decent platelet counts. My last chemo had to be postponed, though, because they were too low. The bane of my existence before that was always my hemoglobin. I had the shots, plus two blood transfusions, for low red cell counts.

My reaction was the same as yours - maybe worse. I actually cried, I was so disappointed because it was my last treatment. Looking back, it doesn't seem like such a big deal, especially since I have decided to do a year of Taxol, starting sometime in March or April.

Are you taking a multi-vitamin with iron?

Yes, I had this problem entire cycle
All my cells were down; red, white, and platelets. Sorry to say, but I was supposed to receive Taxol/Carbo + Avastin every 3 weeks for 6 treatments. Every treatment (after the first) was delayed. I thought I'd finish in December, but I just finally received my last treatment on Feb 10th.

I hope this isn't discouraging for you, and I'm certainly going to try that Gatorade trick that was recommended. Can't hurt! And take Iron. (Ask your Dr. first,of course).

    Good Luck!

    story of my cancer life!!
That has been the story of my chemo from the beginning almost!! Had to stop treatments of carbo/taxol after 7 treatments instead of 9.

Now with first recurrence - was taking gem/cisp and should have been done in January. This time platelets continue to be too low even with Neumega shots. White count does well with Neulasta shots.

    I will post my update.
