    pain
I had pain in my legs and shooting pains in my abdomen. If it's too bad, call your doctor.

    funny you asked
I'm in a recurrence right now. Part of the way they knew it was recurrent was I was having pain in my abdomen. But what's really weird is I feel like I have pain in my ovaries and they're gone! It's like phantom pain link when you lose a finger and you still feel it's there. I was wondering if I was really weird. Has anyone else had that?

    yes to stomach pain
Yes I had stomach pain during my treatment. It freaked me out but my ca125 was dropping steadily. I became obsessed with the pain that I started to keep a log of my pain. I was on carb/taxol then cisplat/taxol. Both of them can do a number on your digestive symptoms.

    you are not alone
Dear Az, you are not alone, as you can tell by the other posts. Sometimes it is still from healing from the surgery, sometimes gases, sometimes bowels, sometimes phantom pain that can never be explained and sometimes cancer. But what ever is causing make sure you talk to you medical team so they can rule out any problems. Hugs ♥ Prayers Bonnie

    Thanks for the replies
I wonder if the blood test they do as a cancer marker can tell us if the chemo is working? does anyone know, i am half done with chemo and the last was so bad.
I pray each day for a healing miracle
Thanks for all who answered me, at least I am not alone in this battle

    Cancer markers
My M.D. used my Ca-125 to help determine if the chemo was working. However, the amount was 2X or more than 100 points above previous before he used the results to help decide . My CA-125 was done before each treatment.

    you are not alone
    Hi Lynda,

You are definitely not alone in this fight. I was diagnosed in May 06/ 3C, I had 3 surgeries and 6 carbo/taxols and had 3 1/2 years dancing with NED ( No Evidence of Disease)until this recurrance. I have had 2 of the planned 8 infusions of carbo/taxol. I have this love hate thing going with that drug. This last infusion was soooooo bad. I was sick for 7 days like no one should have to be ill BUT when I went in for my second infusion my doctor was thrilled to tell me that my CA-125's dropped some after the very first infusion. He wasn't expecting change till after the third. It helps me so much to have my beautiful and brave sisters here to share with........ ((((HUGS)))) Maria

    It is so hard
I got chemo almot 3 weeks ago, and today made some lasagna and did dishes, became so tired
when do yu get strength back

Just looked in miror and all my eye lashes are gone, i do not have a single one left

Do you have to ask if the ca-125's are working or do they tell yu on their own

    CA-125
I always ask for a copy of my lab values enc. CA-125 results. Sometimes the CA-125 value isn't available until the day after other results because it takes longer to do the test. I also was always given a copy of my CT-scan reports. Don't hesitate to ask for a copy of your tests.

    My doctor's office only runs
My doctor's office only runs the CA125 on Mon, Wed, and Fri. My lab is usually done on Thursday, so I have to wait until Friday afternoon and call for the result. The other labs are run right away and I always ask for a copy.

    Carlene

PS....my last CA125 was 12.5 (after 6 chemo sessions) and it was 4,000 before surgery; 2200 before treatment.

If treatment is not working then i am so afraid I will lose all hope of surviving.
Going to have prayer warriors pray and ask monday thugh , I need to know if all this misery on the chemo part is working at least some

    80% respond postively
Dont' be afraid to ask!! They have a good idea if its working after 3 sessions. How many have you had so far? What was your starting ca125? For me, the best part of the chemo days was watching that number drop. Don't lose hope. Even women who can't take the frontline meds like carbo/taxol have other options.

    call the nurse
My mother usually calls the nurse three or four days after they take her blood for CA-125. I think othe testis always done along with the other pre-chemo blood work. You can have the nurse explain your history, too, so you'll know how much it has come down. I bet it's dropped like a rock.
