Finished 6 rounds of Gemzar/cysplatin followed by 2 treatments of Gemzar/carboplatin. The neuropathy in my fingers, toes and part of my feet is awful. Taking a medication to help but so far has done nothing. I see the doctor next week and hope we can increase my med.
Also have a CT scan this Friday to see how I have fared. Wishe me luck!!!

Good to hear from you. I am now on Gem/carbo for at least 3 more treatments. Praying no evidence.

    8 rounds!
Congrats for getting thru 8 rounds. I wish you good luck for your scans. I also hope the neuropathy gets better. I have a little in my fingers but mostly in my ankles and feet. The most annoying is the discloration and sensitive fingernails/toenails. Do you have this?

    neuropathy
I had neuropathy with Gemzar/cysplatin. While on those chemo drugs and ever since then my doctor told me to take vitamin B-6. My neuropathy is gone. Just give it time if you start the B-6. It took over a year for it to get better. I am in my 3 time of different chemo drugs and I still continue to take B-6 for primary peritoneal cancer.

    Friday's CT
Best of luck with your CT and congrats for getting through your all your treatment. I have neuropathy in my feet and toes with the carbo/taxol. I had it the last time I went through chemo and it mostly disappeared, but it takes time.

Thanks for your reply. I had neuropathy ablut 3 years ago, but it was nothing like this time. I get out of bed in the morning and feel like a cripple. I teach preschool and it is difficult at times, especially when trying to do something with my fingers. I took B6 for a short time and then they put me on neurontin. I haven't really seen any change.

    Sounds like your neuropathy
Sounds like your neuropathy is about the same level as mine. I cannot believe how it radiates up my legs too. A very weird feeling. How long have you been like this?
