We had discussed the relation of stress and cancer on another topic. I thought I should start a new discussion on this topic because it seems to be an interesting topic. We were discussing how many people had ADDITIONAL stress before their cancer diagnosis. I know everyone has stress in their lives, but it seems that there are alot of people with a cancer diagnosis that had increased stress shortly before.....interesting. Asking for a show of hands. Me...yes. My mother and sister are both a yes which makes me wonder is stress a trigger maybe even stronger than genetics...? Thanks for the feedback! I am thinking and praying for you all! Be well!

    stress - yes
I know we all have stress but I think the difference is how we handle the stress. I was under an awful amount of stress at work at least 1 year prior to be being diagnosed. I definately was not handling the stress well. I started having palpatations and anxiety attacks. In the 6 months or so prior to being diagnosed things were better at work. I always thought my unhealthy reaction to the stress might have lead to a breakdown somewhere and may have left me vulernerable. Or am I just looking for a 'cause' for my cancer. Who knows!
