Hi, I'm new to the discussion board. I wanted to introduce myself before I just started chiming in on discussions. My name is Christine. I was diagnosed with a rectal tumor on may 8, 2009. I had chemo & radiation to shrink the tumor. It shrunk and in August the tumor was removed. I had 2 bad nodes, they were removed and now I am in chemo til January. After all that time, I finally logged into the ACS website and found the discussion boards. I've been reading them for the past week and feel I'm getting to know everyone who participates. I've also picked up a few good tips on helping me cope with side effects. Now I want to join in and really get to know all of you.

Welcome! I have only been on this site for a few weeks myself, but these are the best people I have ever met in my entire life! The support here is amazing, I am so sorry I did not find this site until after I had finsished all my treatments.
I am stage 3 rectal cancer dignosed Nov 08, oral chemo and radation for 6 weeks, resection surgery, temporary illeostomy for 8 months, mediport, 9 folfox treatments, and ileostomy reversal surgery this past September aned port removal comning in Feb.
Whew, when you put it all in print it sure seems like alot. But everyone here has either been through it, still going through it, or juart beginning.
I was welcomed like you would not beleive and I am so grateful for everyone here. They are all angels to me. The advice is wonderful and they are here even if you just need to vent.
