Hi Kate
I'd like to connect w/ folks who are in their third or more years of stage IV to talk about
experiences and treatments. What have you had since your second met in terms of chemo etc?
I am post surgery for my second lung met with clear scans ( age 69), three years from original diagnosis and my docs can't seem to decide or agree on what to do next.Im at an NCI Cancer Center and you would think these guys would have a definate plan for folks like me. I am KRAS wild so erbitux is an option. Right now I'm on a chemo holiday until the next scans in January so I'm wondering what Stage IV folks are having sucess with.........???????

    Well I was diagnosed 4 1/2
Well I was diagnosed 4 1/2 yrs ago and had my colon totally removed,
so I have an ieostomy.I've had folfox with avastin which put me ned for 10 months then it came back, then I had a year of xeloda then 3 months of folfox again, then erbitux alone for 6 months and after a 4 month break( that stuff really trashes my platelets)tomorrow
I start irinotecan.I have had a radical hysterectomy, partial bladder removal,my gall bladder removed my liver resected and they found a tumour in my main bile duct 2 weeks ago which they were
able to totally remove endoscopically so the irinotecan is 'insurance' .in 3 months they will scan again and if nothing shows up, I will be 'NED' again.they just told me about 9 months ago ,that 4yrs ago they thought I had 3 months to live.SURPRISE!! AND I am totally healthy if you don't count the cancer! no hypertention,no diabetes, no heart problems,no high colesteral
    perfectly healthy!!!
we can talk more later but right now it is late so I am going to hit the hay.
post to me again or PM if you have any questions and I will go into more detail
I'll be at hospital all day tomorrow, but tuesday i'll be up for a chat I'm sure
good kuck to you,I'll say a prayer for you.
    GOD BLESS
    KATE
