I just ruined one of my wigs while opening the oven. You'll turn into Little Orphan Annie on a bad hair day. There's no fixing it. I knew better, I just forgot I had it was on.

    I'm so sorry! Of course it's normal NOT to think about taking one's hair off to open the oven, LOL! How frustrating that this time it was your precious wig. I hope whatever was in the oven was worth it!

    Sorry about your wig.
    I almost forgot when i went to open the oven.And I shut it real fast,Went running in the bedroom and took the wig off.Thank goodness.A lady had told me that she had sinched hers by doing the same thing.Glad I remember,d,I don,t have a spare wig.Take care.Love and Prayers.(Pat).

    I'm sorry. I had to laugh. If we don't go though enough. Wigs on fire now. Needs to have a warning. Caution!!! Do not wear wig when sticking your head in the oven. Hugs

    It's a good thing that I didn't have chemo or wear a wig because I can't remember to wait a moment when I open the oven door so I am always fogging up my glasses when the heat blasts them so there would be no hope for me and a wig. I do remember back when hair pieces and falls were popular that a friend of mine ruined one of hers doing the same thing.
    Glad it wasn't worse than ruining a wig though. And I have to admit that I got a picture in my head of this and laughed also. Sorry. But it is good that you have mentioned this for others. I would never have given that a thought until you said something.

    Oh laurissa...i cant help but laugh but Im so sorry! The wig lady told me not to cook with my wig on. I laughed when she told me that but I guess she was right huh? Go to the ACS..they will give you a new one. Good luck girl...

    Have to admit I've never
    Have to admit I've never burnt a wig. A lot of other things have happened while wearing one. (I've wore wigs off and on for many years, liked change) I'm was always worried that it would blow off and I'd put it on backwards or something like that. I'm glad it was just your wig, not you. BTW, has anyone burnt their eyelid while using a hot curling iron. I did a week ago and got a big blister which has turned into a big brown scab. No one has said anything but it looks like a have a big bugger on my eyelid. Quite funny when I look in the mirror.

    It made me laugh, you poor little orphan annie, but I know you have a couple extra, so you're in good shape. I've only worn my wig twice so far. Its for special occasions, and I'll be sure not ever to wear it near an oven. Sorry it happened to you, but now I know. :)

    I did the same thing
    at my daughter house when she had a house warming party. OMG, I had to laugh. I was having such a good time I totally forgot I was wearing it!! I glad I'm not the only one Laurissa!! Hugs and LOL, Diane

    Oh my gosh! I hope you are OK. I never even thought of that. Take care and check out Wigs.com for great markdowns on great wigs. I have purchased the Rachael Welch brand and they fit very comfortably and look so real and not fake. They have been great to do business with and returns are easy.

    I'm also very sorry to hear about your wig incident ... but I also had to laugh and want to hear more details. Got pictures?

    Isn't it amazing the "interesting" things that happen to us on our cancer journey ... we have to laugh ... otherwise we'd spend the entire journey crying our eyes out ... and we have enough tears as it is. So ... got any pictures????
