Well I'm off the EC145/Doxil research study as my CA125 was up and the CT showed over 20% progression that research would not allow for me to continue. I was a bit bummed as had gone on vactaion for a week and feeling better and bulge on abdomen was smaller. Checked with dr and he didn't know what it was or why smaller to feel when CT showed a bit larger. Anyway right away had me set up to start Gem/Carbo. Have it day 1, then Gem on Day 8 and don't have to flush my port onday 15, free week! REad the paperwork on the drugs and they show all these side effects. I asked him what to expect and he said mostly the hemoglobin and white cells going down, but both mine were ok right now. Also said could have a slight fever with it. Said shouldn't lose hair or feel ill. Had my first one on Mon. and feel relativly ok. Just more tired but thought could also be because of time change, weather change and had been really busy over past couple weekends, driving/riding and talking with people (shuttle service). Get up and feel like a nap already, but try to hold off until afternoon. Body is a bit more tired too, maybe not sitting in best chairs. I did get a couple of antinausea drugs, one a drip and one a push, one is Kyrtol I think and other Demexithone or something like that-big words. Anyway so far don't feel the nausea like others, which is good for me but sad for the others. Maybe get worse later but hope note. I asked how compared to what had last winter, the taxol/cisto and he said better than that. Makes me wonder if he isn't telling me all or if different between how is given, different facitlities or different people/ages, makeup, etc. Anyway I hope they finally get the right one, although just started, only doing for year and others longer, but no fun, feeling not like want to and worrying friends and family. I'm ok with it but hate to tell others that not working. My sister has been juicing for the family so hoping that helps too with the nutrients for immune system, building up new cells better, anti cancer and boosting my red cells faster. Easier way to get down vegetables for us. They keep saying have to find the right one for the right person. All different and unique. Best wishes for all.

Alot of Us are in your same shoes
I had surgery in March and am on my third treatment protocal. Nothing has worked so far but I have faith that the lord has a plan for all of us and we just need to be patient and realize what it is in his timeframe not ours.

I just bought a juicer.....what have you been juicing?

    We are all unique
    Dear Misspokey.

Was the doxil your second or third line chemo? I did cisplatin/gemzar for my second line. THe CA went down to 18 and I took a 3 month break. Now I am doxil only. So far so good.

I just wish there was a formula and we could all just go into remission after the first line! But there are stories about those going into remission after 2nd or 3rd line. And there are also those who stay on chemo for a long long time with no remission.

Wishing you good results on the carbo/gem!! I have been thinking I want to start juicing too....

    Warm hugs,
    Kathleen:)

    different and unique
Dear MissPokey, sorry to hear you had to switch to another combo, but you are so right we are all different and unique and what works for one doesn't work for another. I have been on gemzar and for me it didn't work well but the carbo has, so not sure how the combination is. I bet someone out here does though.I also juice and know it can't hurt, not sure how much it helps, amen to easier way to get veggies and fruits. Wishing you the best and well be watching for updates on this new combo for you.

    Hugs ♥ Prayers Bonnie
