We normally get many people outside of our neighborhood that come to the door on this scary night, so I lay in the 'good stuff' for all (thank 99cent only store...lol!)

This year, 2 young ladies appeared at the door, and I gave them their chocolate, and my advice to 'be careful crossing the street, it's busy here'. They said 'we know, we live up the street'. So I then noticed that at the top of our stairs stood their dad. Nothing new, many kids do this nowadays. BUT, he was in full scottish attire (kilt and all), and was carrying bagpipes. I called out "Yes, but can you play them?" "Sure", he said...and proudly entertained us with music....he earned 3 candybars for his trouble, and I got to meet one of my talented new neighbors!

WHAT a GREAT thing to happen on halloween!!!

Anyone else have a story to share?

Hugs, Kathi

    How Cool!
Kathi that's pretty neat, I love bagpipes. Many (and I do mean many LOL) years ago as a teen I was in the play Brigadoon and we had a fellow who played them in the play so we were treated to his talents nightly.

Halloween night we were painting our room (whew we are finally done painting by the way) so I had on white painters overalls and my gas mask around my neck. Several kids ventured to guess what I was dressed as...I was asked are you a Mad Scientist, are you an Astronaut, are you a Chef, I told each one I sure am how'd you guess! :-D In reality I was a very tired woman who had been helping her husband paint all day! LOL The ones that came to my door revitalized me with all their energy.

    Well, the teenager across
Well, the teenager across the street came out on his porch and played his guitar which he does from time to time anyways.

I have a friend who has a neighbor who rides her horse around trick or treating. Just down the road not up to the house.

Bagpipe playing skirted dude is pretty cool.

We live on a corner, and
We live on a corner, and have "the Halloween house" ~CDs with scary haunted house music, fog machine, creepy jack-o-lanterns ( in the shape of black widow spiders),door bell saying BEWARE and playing a fugue ~the whole enchilada . But we are also the "good neighbors", so everyone sends their kids to our house! And the high-schoolers love it too! We did the whole candy thing until about 9:30 PM and then we went to our local bar to see how the rest of the world was celebrating. And OMG...my sweet Reggie went as FLAVA FLAV!!!!! He put tin foil on his teeth, wore a Viking Helmet he got at a local toy store ( it is either a blessing or a curse that we live 3 miles from a Danish inspired town)a clock he made from a paper plate, and he wore Mardi Gras type beads and some of my hoop earrings as his bling.
I of course was a benevolent witch~ Orange long sleeved Tee and a black cape, orange hoop earrings, black leggings and high heels~ my shoulders were festooned with a rubber spider and a rubber garden snake. Oh yeah~ and fake eyelashes, purple glittery things in the shape of spider webs. So, while no one was playing bagpipes in kilts, it was a fun night! LOL
