Sisters are wonderful! The ones by your side or in cyberspace! My older sister has been by my side every day either by phone or internet. How I wish sometimes she could be here in person though. Bet my very dedicated (probably getting worn out) hubby wishes she could be here too! Love the puppy pic. Glad you have joined us and kudos to you for sticking by your sisters side when she needs you most! Pammy

    Hi Crafty
I love your pic! Your dogs are so cute, and, your sister's hair looks good! I thought you were a professional. Sister's are just the best! Mine flew here a few weeks ago just to help me finish up my radiation treatments and to celebrate with me. She lives out west and I live in the midwest, so, she had a long trip to make. But, we are so close and I love her so much that nothing was going to stop her from seeing me. My sister means everything to me and has helped my hubby out so much too, even though he has been so perfect thru this. I am very lucky to have the best hubby in the world and the best sister. So, welcome to the board and hope to see you posting more!

Hi Crafty! You did a great job on your sister's hair. I love my sister too and she has been such a huge part of my recovery and support. I don't know what I would do without her. My husband has been wonderful too, but, having my sister to help me has been the best!

    doing chemo alone
I was wondering if any others can't have someone in with them while haveing their treatment??The center my sister Laurissa goes to said she could only have someone drop her off and pick her up.They don't want the chance of flu or germs brought back to others having their treatments.I feel 4 or 5 hours is a long time for her to be alone. They say she should read ,watch movies, music, just sleep and relax...I just want to be with her for support, if she wants to talk.I guess Im being over protective.Just wondering what you all think???

    At my center
At the center I go to they allow family members to be with them while having treatment. Maybe if you had a flu shot get documentation that you had one and they would allow you to be there. Also if you have a cold I would not want to be around with my sister but others where their immune system is down.

    Just my thoughts.

    Wish I had a sister
Welcome, Crafty. Laurissa's hair looks great! It's wonderful that you can be there for her like that. As for the chemo room, mine let anyone and everyone in. I don't think she should have to do chemo alone. Talk to the nurses and see what you can do. I think the restriction is a bit too much. I mean the patients enter the waiting room, right? There are other people there, too. Hope you're able to get in.

I had either my daughter or
I had either my daughter or sister with me. I'm sure with all the sickness out there now the centers are just trying to be safe. I agree that maybe if you can provide proof that you had a flu shot perhaps they'll let you sit with your sister. Good luck!
