I HAVE POSTED SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE WONDERFUL NEWS AFTER LEARNING OF IT. JUST A REMINDER HUSBAND DX IN 8/06 STAGE 4 COLORECTAL CANCER WITH MULTI METS TO LIVER. HAD SURGERY 9/06 AND A PERMANENT COLOSTOMY WAS DONE. IN 11/06 STARTED CHEMO. IN 7/07 HAD STOMA REPAIR AND HERNIA REPAIR. CONTINUED ON CHEMO TO 12/08 WHEN TOLD NOTHING WAS HELPING SO SENT TO VANDERBILT FOR POSSIBLE CLINIC TRIAL. GIVEN HOPE THERE...HAD 4% OF RIGHT LUNG REMOVED BECAUSE OF A SINGLE METASTASE IN 2/09 THEN IN 4/09 HAD 75 % OF RIGHT LOBE OF LIVER REMOVED. TOLD NED. WENT BACK FOR RECK IN JUNE, JULY TOLD EVERYTHING LOOKING GREAT. WENT BACK FOR RECK ON 9/09 TOLD HAD SOME SPOTS IN LUNG BUT TOO SMALL TO TELL WHAT IT WAS ...JUST GO HOME AND WORK HARD AT GETTING STRENGTH UP. GIVEN STRONGER PAIN MEDICATION. I GOT THE CT SCAN OFF THE COMPUTER...RADIOLOGIST SAYS THERE ARE TWO NODULES IN THE RIGHT LUNG WHICH MOST LIKELY ARE METASTASES...THERE ARE A GROUP OF NODULES IN THE LEFT LUNG THAT HAVE INCREASED IN NUMBER AND SIZE WHICH ARE METASTASES, THERE IS A 9MM METASTASIC NODULE IN THE UPPER LEFT LUNG AND HAS GROWN, ANOTHER METASTIC NODULE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LEFT LUNG WHICH HAS GROWN BUT STILL MM SIZE, ANOTHER METASTIC NODULE IN THE LOWER LEFT LUNG WHICH HAS GROWN, ALSO THERE ARE TWO SPOTS IN THE ABDOMEN PELVIS AREA WHICH MIGHT BE METASTASES. THE DOCTOR TOLD US THEY WERE TOO SMALL TO TELL WHAT THEY WERE BUT THE RADIOLOGIST PLAINLY STATES THERE ARE METASTASES. WHY WILL DOCTORS NOT BE UP FRONT WITH PATIENTS AND FAMILY. IT IS ROUGH ENOUGH DEALING WITH REOCCURANCE OF THE DISEASE WITHOUT BEING TOLD ONE THING AND FINDING OUT BY A REPORT. I GUESS THERE IS ALWAYS THE CHANCE OF IT COMING BACK. AT LEAST WE HAD A LITTLE OVER THREE MONTHS OF NED. PLEASE PRAY FOR MY HUSBAND AND SEND POSITIVE THOUGHTS. WE NEED ALL WE CAN GET. PRAYING FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.
HUGS,
ANNA

    Hi
    Hi Anna,
I'm sorry to hear the news. I also just had a reaccurance, I did enjoy NED for a few months, but I now have it in lungs and spine. It is a bummer to hear it has spread again. Tell your husband to put his boxing gloves back on! Time to fight again!

You are both in my thoughts and prayers!

You and your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers. It must be hard for the people dealing with this terrible disease, but when I read these posts, I see hope and caring thoughts from others. I am a caregiver to my husband, and I come here for venting and kind words. The only thing I can offer is Prayer to everyone.
Take care and God Bless your husband and you.

My husband has been fighting cancer for 6 yrs. and has had several recurrences. He say it's PPMM (Power of Prayer and Modern Medicine) that has brought him this far. We have felt the prayers of others and I hope you do too My prayers will be coming your way for you and your husband, Fay

    So sorry about the recurrence
I will have you and your husband in my prayers. My husband David is also dealing with stage 4 crc. Please remember that there are new drugs and trials on the horizon, so hang in there, do what you can and we will all pray for a cure for this lousy disease. My very best wishes to you and your family. I know how rough it is.

    Hugs and prayers,

    sorry to hear
    Hi Anna,
Sorry to hear about your husbands reoccurance, it's a bummer, I too have the bad news. I know what you mean about the drs not telling you everything, my dr is like that also. It's like they want to keep you guessing, or the way my onc said is it's hard for them to tell you that it's back. but that's what we want to know right? Anyhow, I will pray for you hubby as I pray for everyone with this disease, and will send you all the positive vibes I can......
    Much Love to you,
    Donna

    Thank you All
Words can not express what is in my heart. Each of you that have responded to my post have lifted my load and helped in more ways than you will ever know. This is a difficult battle and only those that have or are fighting this disease knows how difficult it really is. I pray for each of you and your families. Again thanks for being there for us and listening to my venting. We will march on into battle once again.
    Hugs to each of you,
    Anna

So sorry to hear that the
So sorry to hear that the battle resumes. I hope the 3 months NED gave you both a bit of a rest to get ready for the next battle.

I do know that what a radiologist says about a test is not necessarily correct though. Take for instance my CT - the radiologist said probable mild sigmoid colitis with reactive lymph nodes. Oops - that wasn't colitis, it was stage III or IV colon cancer, with positive nodes. Also if you don't inform them of recent surgeries and they see areas of elevated activity, they will say that is consistent with metastatic disease. But if they know there was just surgery in that area, they will say it is inconclusive. So a lot goes into reading these scans - this is why the doctor's input is needed as well as the radiologist's.

It does sound like in your case, the doctor didn't give you the full info from the radiologist as he should of. Sorry to hear that. You are both in my prayers.
