I just wanted to remind everyone that September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month. There are fund raising events all across the country as well as the opportunity for free screenings in most areas. I always try to educate others on the dangers of PC as well as support the organizations and people that are working to assist patients and end PC, but I will put extra emphasis on it during September. I urge all of you during the month of September to talk to those you love and care for about PC and remember those who lost the battle.

    prostate cancer awareness month
I tell all of my friends and anytime I engage someone in conversation about my prostate cancer I tell them that every man should get a prostate cancer screening (PSA test) if they are in their forties or older. I was 60 when I saw a urologist about a sexual problem and was fortunate that he did a PSA test. My PSA was 22, Gleason total 7. Long story short, I had a radical prostatectomy March 2, 2009 and my second postop followup PSA was 0.008.
I thank God for leading me to the urologist when he did.
