The game of golf

GOLFERS WILL UNDERSTAND THIS STORY

It was a sunny morning, a little before 8:00 am, on the first Hole of a busy course, and I was beginning my pre-shot routine, visualizing my upcoming shot when a piercing voice came over the club house loud speaker, 'Would the gentleman on the woman's tee back up to the men's tee please!'

I could feel every eye on the course looking at me. I was still deep in my routine, seemingly impervious to the interruption. Again the announcement, 'Would the man on the woman's tee kindly back up to the men's tee.'

I simply ignored the guy and kept concentrating, when once more, the man yelled, 'Would the man on the woman's tee back up to the men's tee, please!'

I finally stopped, turned, cupped my hands and shouted back
'Would the **** with the microphone please be quiet and let me play my second shot. "

    I am
I am not that funny in person--well some think I am.
I can't remember a joke two minutes after it was told.

I don't want to offend anyone but right after my surgery and still today I sometimes joke or say funny things about myself like:

Geez it's cold out here but I don't have nipple hard on's.
Sometime I talk about the reconstruction part of reconstructing nipples and tattoo where I am not being funny and some people take it as funny.

I think everyone is different in their diagnosis and healing phase and I am one who is very open with my cancer and will educate others about my type of BC if they ask. I don't make jokes about it but I guess because I am always smiling people think I am making jokes about it but I am not--I am just a happy go lucky person and always have been and always will be.

As for the jokes that I post--I get them from friends or a joke web site.

    Golf....
Funny, funny golf joke, Margo! My Reggie is an avid, rabid, addicted golfer, and I don't "get it' at all! Some of the wives have taken lessons, and play now and then~ and they seem to like it too. The Tribe hosts a major charity golf tournament every year, and it too is a big deal. When Reggie and I travel and he golfs, I do go along, sometimes! I sit in the cart, bring a good mystery and my cell phone on vibrate so that I can text message other non-golfers! LOL But mostly, if he is golfing for the day, I schedule a Spa Day!

Although not politically correct perhaps,Reggie's guy golfing friends love my Golf Theory: Men of a 'certain age" should absolutely golf together; they should be able to drink, smoke stinky cigars, cuss without having to apologize to any women, and most importantly, delude themselves that the 20-something cart girls still think they're hot!

So they act not much more mature than high school sophomores, make fools of themselves, have a grand time~and then, in a laughing mood, my Reggie comes back to me and regales me with the great day he had! It's a win-win situation, as far as I am concerned! Especially if I had a massage, facial and mani-pedi too! Whoooo hoooo!!!

    Hugs,
    Claudia
