Very Frustrated and Angry

It is often the anger that keeps us motivated and moving to get done what has to be done. I am glad you are getting this taken care of now, rather than later, and I am glad you are still full of 'spit and vinegar' which will see you through. God bless.

I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with this! I would be angry and frustrated too.

Swelling is so painful, and I don't blame you one bit for being frustrated and angry. I mentioned this in another thread, but I'm not sure you read it. Can you somehow get a second opinion about this, from your primary care physician or maybe the surgeon that you liked so well? Although the oncologist is your cancer doctor, it doesn't seem as though she would have a lot of expertise with the bleeding and fluid build-up that you're experiencing.

I hope that she was able to offer you more than a temporary fix today.

You need to trust your
You need to trust your doctor, after all, she is the expert. There obviously is a good reason why she isn't having anything done. Did you ask? What was the reason? And, if you don't trust here or aren't happy with her, you should go for a second opinion.

And, you should probably look into some nerve pills or something. It will help with your anxiety and hopefully calm you down. Breast cancer is very stressful, and, medication helps us to deal with it a lot better at times.

Has she actually looked at your breast or is all this being told to you over the phone? If she has not seen you in person, I would request that she does. It sounded to me like you just talked with her on the phone about this but maybe I am wrong.

She explained her reasoning. Everytime she drains the blood, the "hole" becomes empty and just fills up with blood again. I'm losing to much blood. It's been more than 2liters allready. She says the boob-balloon will keep the presure on the wound underneath and will stop it from bleeding anymore. My body is suppose to be able to deal with this, absorb it and heal on it's on.
I just don't understand why not more woman are going through this. Maybe it is because they took out the drain too soon. But still, someone else must have had a similar experience.

What she said makes sense. Like putting pressure on a cut to stop the bleeding. It will just take longer. I have heard that it is better to have the body reabsorb this. I hope it starts to do that right away. Good thoughts for you on your journey.

fluid build up
I had a similiar experience, I had a radical mastectomy June 10, I came home with two drain tubes. The doctor removed them after a week,and also removed my stitches. I did ok for approx one week and then I was walking thru my kitchen and my shirt felt wet..I pulled up my shirt and blood was pouring down my stomach, down my leg, into the kitchen floor..I kinda freaked out..I put a gauze on it and laid down to try and stop the bleeding..It was on a Sunday and it was also fathers day..I called the Dr. and he ask me if it was dark blood and he said it was a build up that needed to come out. If I had been thinking, I would have known that dark blood is not new blood..But, when blood is pouring out of your chest , who can think straight..He said this happens sometimes, he told me to keep the gauze changed and it should stop..The blood was coming out of the weakest part of my incision..I changed the gauze four time and it finally stopped..I went to his office the next day and everything was fine.. I was also told the body would start to absorb the extra fluid..It took a little while..But, I started turning green around that area, and the Dr told me that is a sign that the body is absorbing the fluid..So I know how you feel..It is scary and very uncomfortable..My thoughts are with you.
