LUNG NODULE

Well, I arrived home at 3:00 AM TODAY from my 4:00 PM appointment yesterday. But, that's normal.

My doctor is not 'too concerned' about this lung nodule. He said that it may not have picked it up before because of the 'slicing' measurements of the CT scan. Sounds like he was referring to what everyone was talking about in reference to 'the grid'. But that makes me wonder how reliable these CT scans really are. I still don't feel completely comfortable that it's there in the first place, but as always, I need to trust that the Lord is in control.

Anyway, he said to go for my next CT in December and just keep an eye on it. Otherwise, the good news is that by all accounts (CT scan, exam, etc.), I am still in remission. YAY! He suggested that I go back to my doctor that's handling the thyroid (I'm on Armour Thyroid) and see if he can put me on Synthroid instead. Armour Thyroid is natural (dessicated) and the efficiency can fluctuate. It's too difficult to keep it in control. And considering my extreme fatigue and weight gain (AGAIN!), I don't think I'm at a therapeutic level. I don't think this doctor will make the switch, but I'll have to try.

Luv, hugs and prayers to everyone. May this July 4th bring you some relaxation, peace, and celebration of our Freedom!

Monika

    Good news
That's good news about the lung node, what ever that is. Yes, I think we have figured out the grid thing on our own. Aren't we smart???
Thyroid is a little devil. I have had low thyroid for 44 years and the dose is continually being adjusted as is the type of thyroid I take. I am now on Levoxyl (generic) and have been for about 8 years. It is something you have to have a blood test for every year or when you feel the dose is wrong. I never gained weight, I lost. The fatigue was what alerted my doctor and slow reflexes after the third pregnancy. For sure, we don't need low thyroid and fatigue from chemo at the same time!! Too much of it and it's like I'm on speed...nervous anxiety symptoms.

Luv, hugs and prayers to you too. Happy 4th and let Freedom Ring! Saundra

    Hi Monika
    Hi Monika,
That sounds like a very good and encouraging report, I'm happy for you.
Now you can relax and not think of the cancer until the winter.

Regarding the thyroid, I've been hypothyroid most of my life, and I can only take Synthroid, that's the one that works for me.

I'm sure your doctor won't have any problem switching your thyroid drug, and it might be a better choice for you.
I hope you continue to have good health,
    Jane
