High CA125

This week's CA125 was 166 after the false report of less than one. I have appointments with doctors and new tests in July and we'll wait and see what the tests show then. Could still be the imflammed bowel that is causing the higher numbers. Hopefully, with the new probiotics and no wheat or dairy products that will calm down and make the next blood test more believable. Saundra

    Hope you're right
    Saundra,
I certainly hope you're right about the inflamed bowel inflating your CA125 numbers. I'm very happy for you that the changed diet is helping you feel better in the meantime. It is so easy to miss those non-cancer answers to some of our symptoms! Thanks for informing all of us. Love and hugs, Carol.

    inflammation
    Hi Saundra,
just wanted to let you know that bowel inflammation (mine was after recent adhesive bowel obstruction) caused my ca125 to blow out overnight. It took about two months after I was out of hospital for my numbers to drop back to a reasonable level, with tests every week. Slowly the numbers dropped as the inflammation settled. I was out of my mind worrying about recurrence, so I know how this all plays on your mind.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for your dropping ca125!!!
    Lotsa love....Carolyn xxxxx
P.s. I'm now waiting on results from lymph node biopsy..... just goes on and on it seems!
I'm hoping for the best result possible for both of us, so hang in there :) xox

    Prayers
Hi Saundra, I will be praying that the rise in your ca 125 is due to your bowel being inflammed and nothing else.
    Hugs and Prayers,

    Getting better
The probiotics have completely calmed down the stomach cramps and gas. The next CA125 on the first of July should be real. It has been climbing for nine months, though slowly. Saundra

    Glad to hear
    Saundra,
I'm so glad the probiotics are working for you. That is amazing that you were able to figure this out. I am sorry if this has drastically changed your diet - not sure I could handle eliminating dairy from my diet. I hope you still have some favorite foods you can still eat. I'll pray for better CA125 numbers for you in July. Love and hugs, Carol

    HANG IN THERE
Well Saundra, I guess it's not the news we had hoped for (1 would have been great!). Nonetheless, inflammation is a huge factor in CA125 readings. And if that's what it is, it will take time to settle down. I'd be willing to bet that's the cause. I had a situation with Boniva (I won't go in to details, but you could probably look up my post from last year) that spiked my CA125. I was almost panic-stricken, but was sure that's what caused it. My doctor didn't seem to think so, but 2 months later my reading had gone back down to 'my normal'. I talked to the PA at his office and she was also convinced that the drug is extremely 'inflammatory' causing and wasn't surprised at all. Thankfully as I said, it came back down.

Well, luv, hugs AND prayers! Take care, Saundra.

    Prayers ♥ Hugs
    Dearest Saundra,

I am sad to hear your numbers are up ... maybe they need to retake it one more time with one so low and now one higher to just to get a good comparison. Just a thought. You sure have been through enough lately and know our body does give false readings with so much going on inside us.

I will definitely be praying for you and have already said praises for your friendship!! Actually everyone here is always right there for each other, a great example of the good that comes from living with cancer. If we could spread that power of prayer to everyone in the world what a world this would be.

    Much Love and Prayers Bonnie
