Hello all my very supportive friends, time for an update. I went for my first checkup since my reconstruction surgery today. I am soooo happy to say they removed both drains and I am ecstatic! They do want me to continue on antibiotics for an extra week because there is a small pocket of fluid that did not drain and I have had a very slight fever, but truly all is well. Now for the comedic part of my visit, I was a bit nervous about removing the drains because well darn it can hurt a bit (I know what a baby I can be) anyway my guy decided to go goof on me. Since we are in a plastic surgeons office there are advertisements for procedures. My husband stands in front of the huge mirror and starts to discuss the things he wants my surgeon to do for him; six pack implants, eye lift, hair plugs and perhaps some lipo for his tummy. By now I am laughing so hard at his antics when the nurse comes in she is wondering what we are up to and we simply can't tell her. Luckily she likes us and knows we can be a couple of kids sometimes. God I love this man!

Also, last Wednesday I went to see my oncologist and he ran my cancer markers and I am happy to say they are low and everything is looking okay there.

    great news
    RE,
Glad for all the good news you have had except for the small pocket of fluid and hopefully that will disappear soon with the help from the antibiotics and listening to the doctors orders.

    Hugs,
    Margo

P.S. I haven't figured out how to do the designs that a lot of people are doing. I am amazed at all the different ones that are on the boards.

    Yea, Re!
I am so happy to hear all this good news! Doing the happy dance at 5 AM! (I saw your post time and hope you are sleeping right now, dear Re.)

How sweet and quick-thinking of your husband to distract you and make you laugh. I wish I could have seen you two kids. Wishing you both many, many moments of fun and laughter.

    Designs
Hi, Margo, Aortus posted a couple of "tutorials." They are just a bit older but you should find them down the list. I am sure at leaste one of our newfound animator/artists will reply to you. They designs are a lot of fun, aren't they? I enjoy them, too.

Whoooopppeeee!!!! What great news. Sounds like you had an interesting visit at the doctor's office. I'm sure you and your husband "make their day." I'm sure they have enough appointments that end up sad ... so being able to visit with you two ... and laugh is a great relief to them. Good medicine for the doctors and nurses.

And ... I love the picture of you and your husband ... what a happy couple.

    Photobucket

    hugs.

    Hooray for RE!!!
And hello to you, RE, our fabulous MAGIC WONDER WOMAN!!! I, too, am sooo happy those darned drains were removed - and right on schedule! All good news (well, except for the antibiotics & slight fever), which is super wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

Your husband obviously shares your upbeat spirit - and, I'm enjoying your new I.D. photo. The two of you make a quite attractive couple; and, the photo conveys your love & affection for each other. :-)

Love your latest post embellishment. It is beyond appropriate. I see those hearts, and THEY ARE YOU, RE! Big, open & generous. And pink!

    Kind regards, Susan

    Keep that sense of humor!
Humor has certainly made the journey lighter. I don't like drainage tubes at all. And having your husbands support just reminds me to be thankful, once again, for my hubby standing by me-along with all those who helped, encouraged, made meals, sent cards...and more. It is good to be loved.

So good to hear things went well for you, RE. I can just vision you two in the doctor's lobby, laughing like a couple of kids.....what fun is that! This cancer thing takes so much out of us, I am glad to see that it has managed to skip your sense of humor. Keep us posted on the recovery. Hugs.

    Good story, RE. I think
Good story, RE. I think that is why doctors make drains such a hassle. Why else would anyone sit still while they take them out. Ouch! I swear I broke several of the nurse's fingers when she offered me her hand to hold during the removal of my last one.

Soo.....how do they look? Is it time to go bra shopping at Victoria's Secret? I am very happy for you.
    Love, Joyce
