edited March 2014 in Ovarian Cancer #1
Hi Ladies -

I wanted to write and just request a few prayers as I get ready to undergo surgery to remove my gall bladder and repair an incisional hernia this coming Thursday. I have been having stomach pains, horrible cramping in my back and nausea for many months - but until I had to make an ER visit & had an ultrasound done nobody could tell me what it might be. I always thought my cancer was back. What else would it be, right?

The surgeon is 85% sure he can do the surgery laparoscopic but because of all the scar tissue I might have to be opened. I WANT to feel better - but the thought of being opened again is causing great anxiety - that along with the fear that they'll take a look inside and find more cancer.

My last CA 125 in March was 5.4, so I know that's great - but you never can tell.

I hope this finds everyone doing well - there are so many of you dealing with recurrences right now - I think of you every day. A little surgery is nothing - this I know to be true!

My best to you all! Hugs.

Kris

    My Prayers are with you
My niece and mom had their gall bladder out without opening up. Hope that is the way for you so it will be easy on you. You will then feel better. Mom had symptoms as you do. She feels a lot better now that its out. Hope all goes well for you Kris. I am praying for you.
    Prayers and A BIG HUG

    With you
I had my gall bladder out before the OVCA. It's a breeze compared...gas the biggest problem. In fact I thought it was gall emptying in my abdomen that might be causing the pain I was having from the cancer in my liver!! Dumb me. Your CA125 numbers are great. Laproscopic surgery has one 1 inch incision and three 1/3 inch holes. So you get up quickly. I only had to pee in order to leave the hospital that day.

You will be in our thoughts and prayers on Thursday and you are never alone in that area...just keep that in mind. Remember that FEAR is only "false expectations appearing real". (((Hugs))) Saundra

    Don't be scared
Your CA 125 is the greatest marker for your cancer. If your numbers were high....I don't think the Dr. would even consider doing the surgery right now. So don't be afraid.... and take care of these things while the are small issues. I had a huge hernia and believe me... I wish it was taken care of when it when smaller and they could have done it laproscopic. I like what Saundra said above me about FEAR..... that is powerful!
I wish you the best and will pray for you.

    Thanks everyone
I so appreciate everyone's notes and words of encouragement. I am so afraid to do this thing tomorrow - but I know that it will be fine. I really mean that. I think. I'll take you all along with me in my heart -

Thanks again. I'll post this weekend if I'm feeling well.
