My husband saw the lung surgeon today at Vanderbilt...He had the PET scan results, the lung function test, the CT scan, the cardiolite test, stress test etc. The nodule in Frank's right lung lite up this time on the PET scan and also a lymph node near the lung. They are almost positive it is lung caner. They said if it is just the one met they can remove it but won't know if there is more until they get in there and see. He is scheduled for surgery on Feb 10 here at Vanderbilt and will be here up to five days. The PET also showed that the left lobe of his liver is cancer free and if everything goes okay with the lung surgery they will do the liver resection to remove the right lobe of the liver. It has been a very exhausting day for Frank. He came back to Hope Lodge and went straight to bed. We know Frank is in GOD's hands and HIS will be done. We also believe in prayer. It has got us hope after having none. Please pray for Frank.
Thanks for listening.
Anna

    prayers!
I pray for peace and comfort in the days ahead before Frank's surgery. I also pray for the doctors who will be attending to Frank that they are at their best and that everything goes well, bringing Frank to a point of recovery and healing. I pray as well for strength and comfort for you, Anna, as you care for your husband and deal with everything that is ahead.

    lobectomy
I 've had colon, liver resection and left lung lobectomy over the last 3 years. The lung surgery for me was the easiest to come back from. Just no sneezes and laughs for the first 2 weeks post surgery but that is great that that option exists. Good luck

    HI Anna,
I will be thinking of Frank for his Feb. 10 surgery. Yes, Frank is in God's hands and HIS will be done, like you said! That's what I've said about myself with my cancer, also. I am hopeful and so thankful to be here and doing so well a year and a half after stage IV diagnosis.
I've not had any lung surgery (just liver resection), but I'm very curious about it since I may face surgery or other procedures on my lungs in the future. I'm glad to hear Frank's left lung is cancer free and he's just dealing with the one. (I have it in both, but my nodules are all under 1 cm at this point in time). From what I've heard here and from others in other places, lung surgery isn't as bad as some surgeries (what my father in law went through for a collapsed lung 25 years ago was probably way worse than the advanced ways they can perform lung surgery today). He will be okay- God will see the both of you through this. Take care!!!!

    Prayers for Frank
    Anna,

I will be thinking of Frank on the 10th. I have a list of people to take to the hospital with me this week so that I can keep up with what's happening and keep the prayers going. Frank is right up there at the top.

    Many hugs...Vicki

Thanks to each of you for your support and prayers. It is so good to come to the computer and read such words of encouragement especilly from someone that is going through this or has gone through this. We are hopeful that it is just the two spots but we will with GOD's help deal with whatever comes. Vicki we will be praying for you as you go through your surgery. We pray for each of you by name to GOD every night. I keep a list of each of your names so that I can ask for blessing for each of you by name. Frank is doing okay..not in great shape but with liver and lung cancer and over two years of chemo..he doing okay. We will be leaving on Monday for surgery on Tues the 10th. My daughter in law, Tricia, will be updating Frank's caringbridge site since I won't have a computer with me or access to one. His site is www.caringbridge.org/visit/frankproctor
