I just want to say thanks for all the prayers. husband has a blockage in the upper left side been in hospital since last tuesday cat scan done on friday surgeon came in sunday explained that the cat scan shows some little cancer in stomach area plan is to go in and remove blockage in colon and reattach well it did not go as planed dr said they opened him up and he has numerouse huge tumors all around the colon area the tumors were bigger then the blockage. could not remove the blockage did give him a ileostomy on the right side so he can eat and poop but could not remove anything, so the chemo that the chemo doc said was helping was not. the surgeon said the cat scan did not pick up those large tumors.we are devasted again. cancer doc coming to day to see my husband so i will ask alot of questions and tell him i am mad he thinks the chemo was working and it was not. so i have to be at work today no one with my husband very confused from pain meds i am so worried i come at 4.00 to the hospital. i feel teriible that he is alone. i am very upset right now i just wanted to let you know

    thinking of you
My prayers are with both of you.

Maybe you should push for a PET scan instead of a CAT scan. The PET would/should show the "uptake" of cancerous tumors. Might help you and the dr.s make better decisions.

    I am so sorry
It seems to just keep on coming. I know you are having a hard time dealing with this, as would anybody. I am praying for comfort and strength for the both of you. It has to be very hard not only to deal with the disappointment of the findings when they opened Angel up, but not being able to discuss this because of your husband's drug-induced confusion. I know that you know the drugs are necessary to keep Angel comfortable, but I am sure that still doesn't help you deal with it. You both have a tough road ahead and I pray God sends an "angel with skin on" to be with you both at this tough time.

    Hugs from afar

I am so sorry for your news. The days ahead will indeed be tough ones. Know that you are not alone, no matter how lonely you feel right now. I can't begin to imagine the pain you are in and the agony of having to leave and go to work. He knows your heart is always with him. Sending all of the good thoughts and prayers available.

    blockage
My prayers are with you. I had an ileostomy for 10 months and then it was reversed. They will keep checking to make sure that he has output coming from his stoma. Sometimes certain pain meds cause alot of confusion morphine can do that. Don't be afraid to be demanding, you know how he normally is. Sometimes chemo can shrink tumors. Please keep us posted. Also don't be afraid to demand a second opinion.

I have kinda been watching this and not really posting but I want both of you to know that I prayed for you both last night at Church and also for Hop...I don't know if you and your hubby are religious or not, that is none of my business, but its times like this that I really don't have the right things to say so I turn it over to the Lord to say it for me. If you follow Him and let Him take control you will find peace, even as hard as it is to be in the positions that both of you are in right now. Sometimes our Lord is the only solace we have, and that solace comes from knowing that He will take control of this if you allow Him to. Believe in Him, you have nothing to lose in doing so and everything to gain by doing so. He will make things ok...He promises that only if you believe in Him....Let Him have the burden that you and yours are carrying, and then enjoy each other, for sooner or later the both of you will be together forever eternally....The life here on earth is a very short one for us all, its the next one thats eternal, thats the one we all seek....God Bless both of you and continued prayers will be there for you both in your journey through this...........

    lending you my shoulder
    Oh Michelle,

I'm so sorry you're having to go this. How difficult to not feel in control and to wonder how your husband is going to react to everything. I am praying right now that your husband will have a sense of feeling calm and will be more compliant with doing what needs to be done for his best interest. You take care- get plenty of rest yourself before he comes home, because I know you're going to need it.

    Take care and God bless,
    Lisa

You and Angel are in my prayers, Michelle. You are having such a tough time right now. I can understand Angel's side of it, but I also understand how hard it is for you; you want him to do everything possible, you just aren't sure of what's possible. Just know that he is going to do what is possible for HIM. He's got some tough choices ahead and you both need to come to terms with the decisions he makes; ultimately they are for him to make. I pray for strength for you and him as well as for an angel to come and strengthen the both of you together. As far as his thinking the ileostomy is temporary; if that is what he needs to believe right now to get through then there's nothing wrong with that. Besides, who knows what the future entails. He needs to build his strength right now and he needs you to be there for him.

Michelle, it is good to hear you peering at that light at the end of the tunnel! You are sounding so much better today than you have. It sounds like Angel is doing much better as well! That is really awesome that you have CNA training; we never know how God is arranging our lives to prepare us for the future! You are a strong woman, Angel is lucky to have you! Take care and God be with you.
