Hello ladies,
Again I want to thank you all for all your love, sopport and prayers. They all mean so much to me. I had my 1st Taxotere yesterday. Other than being tired (from the benadryl and ativan)I woke up this AM feeling great!!! Last night wasn't easy, but a bowel movement was needed!!! YUCKY!!! I have had the new drain done 2x's thus far for training (I need to do it by myself) and that will stop this nurse from coming out. I have only got small amounts out a total of about 275ml...and that is excellent. So now I will have a nurse only to come out weekly to change the port needle. My edema for my ankles, feet and calves is now gonna go to an occupational therapist and treated as lymphadema...I can't wait,it feels like I have 10lbs of concrete on each leg!!Not sure of what to expect, but know those old granny looking like support hose will be the first treatment tried. The chemo itself went fine and I was completed in 1 1/2 hours. Now just waiting for the hair to fall out...hate that too,but it's all worth it to me. I know my life isn't in my hands right now and I trust G*D to do what is best for me. I do want to thank you all so much, you are making this load easier for me to carry. (((hugz))~~Joanne

    HI JOANNE!
What an inspiration you are! Thank you for keeping us informed. I'm so glad that you got through this treatment reasonably well. I know, losing our hair can be disturbing. But, at least you know what to expect and how to deal with it.

I will be praying for your strength during these treatments, JoAnne. Hang in there, and continue to lean on the Lord to get you through this. 'Lean not to our own understanding, but trust in the Lord and He will direct your path' (paraphrased, sorry!)

    Luv & Hugs & Prayers!

    Hi Joanne
Add me to the list above. It seems like you are more comfortable now and that is a big accomplishment. You are so strong in you fight and we are so proud of you. I hope that you have someone sending you laughs on the email. I have a couple of cousins that keep me supplied with laughs and I think that is a good part of getting through the days. Lots of prayers coming in you behalf. ((HUGS & PRAYERS)) Saundra

    Hi Joanne,

That made me feel so good to hear you say you woke up and felt GREAT! After all of the pain you have been in, feeling GREAT must be a real treat for you. Also, that sounds good that your chemo went so well. I start Topotecan on Monday, so my reprieve is over. Thanks for keeping us updated. Here's hoping that your next marker will show that the chemo is doing it's job! Love and hugs, MM

    Hi Joanne,

My friend who had 3A OVCA started having lymphedema in one leg last year, and she doesn't know why it came on. She's been NED for more than 5 years.

Isn't it cold enough in FL to want to wear a great hat? My brother said it was 57 in St. Pete yesterday, enough to give him the chills!

Nice to hear from you, and keep us posted.
