Hello ladies, is anyone out there only getting taxotere infusions? If so how does it make you feel.

I am getting 4 rounds, every 3 weeks of Taxotere/cytoxan. I don't know if my experience is typical, but this is what has happened so far (next Friday will be my 3rd infusion): the first day or so my skin darkens a little bit (this goes away after a few days) and I feel burpy. 17 days after my first treatment my hair started falling out in strands (a lot of strands would come out in the shower). Unlike many people, I decided not to shave my head and to date, I still have hair covering all of my head, although I have to wear a wig because it's very CLOSE to the scalp. I am praying no more will fall out. The only bothersome side effect I have is this horrible, salty taste in my mouth which goes away toward the end of the 3 week period, but then comes back with the next infusion. THAT IS IT! I do not feel tired or nauseous at all and have been working the whole time, actually working very hard at my job. I can hardly believe it myself that I have experienced so little side effects. I will be interested to hear what others who respond to your post will say. Good luck! Ohilly

Just like Ohilly, I am also having 4 rounds of cytoxan/taxotere and I had my 3rd round last Friday (May 16). I felt really sick the 1st round with terrible bone pain after the shot and it last about 3 days. My hair also starts falling after 2 weeks and I did shaved it rightaway. No nausea/vomiting but felt really tired. The 2nd round was very good, my Onco gave me medication for pain. She said I'm a little bit anemic so she let me take some iron. She said maybe that is why I am very tired because of the low blood count. My third round is last Friday and it is bad. I felt like throwing out at night, bone pain and 100.6 fever. I also wake up with my bald head soaking wet. I'm taking antibiotic for the fever and so far it went away. I hope you won't have any side effect when you start your treatment.

    God bless,
    Liz

After 4 rounds of adramician/cytoxin I had 4 rounds of taxotere. The taxotere wasn't nearly as bad a the a/c. I actually didn't feel too bad at all. My hair started growing back after the a/c so who knows yours may not come out at all. I had hiccups (sp?) often. My mouth felt really weird and I also had an odd taste in my mouth.

I didn't have it by itself either, had it with Cytoxan. I had to watch what I ate because I had a tendency to get constipated or diarhea, and lost hair all over my body. It wasn't too bad...kept working full time. Did have to have Neupogen shots for low white cell count...did not have bad side effects from that either.

I hope you have it even better than I did. seof
