Hello everyone. My doctor just called me with results of my pap smear. He said he was surprised to see that the report showed "cancerous cells in my vagina." He referred me to my onc/gyn/surgeon that he assisted 3 1/2 yrs ago. It is very upsetting news to me, as I have just finished my third chemo yesterday and was feeling hopeful. He said during the exam he didn't see anything or feel anything, so he was surprised by the report. I told him the last thing I wanted to think about now was more surgery. I'm so totally disappointed. What has been all of your experiences with pap smears? Any help would be so greatly appreciated, especially tonight. I don't know what to think. Hope everyone is feeling well tonight.....Love you all, MM

I am just reading this on Friday afternoon and am so sorry that you are most likely going to have to go thru the weekend with all of that new information in your mind. I've not had a new pap smear since being diagnosed in July, just a basic physical every 3 weeks with vaginal exam - not the whole procedure.

I hope you've will find comfort in knowing we are thinking of you and will wait to see what your doctor has to say - hopefully soon. Take good care. Kris

Kris, thank you for your encouragement. One tidbit of good news was that my oncologist's nurse called me late yesterday before they closed with "some good news." She said my CA-125 had dropped from 178 to 148! They don't normally call me with my reports, so I think the doctor must have wanted to send me a little morale boost for the week-end. That was nice. However, I'm still feeling extreme stress. I have to see my surgeon at the end of this month. Thanks again Kris for your kindness and concern.....it really does help. Love and hugs, MM
