Xeloda side effects

Hello, I have a few questions about Xeloda if anyone out there is still taking it. I just finished my first 2 week cycle of the drug, and after 3 days off, my hands and feet are starting to tingle. Is Xeloda a cumulative drug? I do not see any redness, swelling, or blisters, only slight tingling in the center of my palm. I wonder if this is going to grow into the Hand and Foot syndrome. Can Xeloda also cause skin sores and redness in other places? I have a little tiny sore on my belly, but I am not sure if it is the Xeloda or something else.

I also feel extremely sleepy, not just tired but sleepy. If I sit down for more than a few minutes I fall asleep. I even doze off at work. I just cannot seem to stay awake. I know that after a year and a half of chemo (I had a recurrence to my liver, lungs, bones, and brain) being tired is to be expected, but when I started Xeloda I started wanting to sleep all day long.

I guess maybe I am feeling a little overwhelmed all of a sudden and looking for a little hope that this may end at some point. I seem to have lost my sense of humor somehow. How do you get that back?

    Hi. I'm currently taking Xeloda and here are the side effects I'm been experiencing: redness on hands and feet and a lot of peeling. I've been using Bag Balm and slather it ; but it's so thick I have to use socks and cotton gloves at nite - what a site I am - lol. I can relate to the fatigue too; what Im doing, and I checked with my onc, is to take a Vicodin, lay down for a small nap and then Im good to go. I monitor the Vicodin usage also. I usually take one during the morning and then one at nite. For some reason my feet hurt when I'm lying down. If I get up and walk around the pain stops and then starts again when resting. I'm assuming this is part of the Xeloda thing?
    I haven't noticed any other side effects, other than the occasional constipation when seems to go with every chemo drug. also, if your hands get worse, wear plastic gloves when doing dishes or showering because the hot water can make it worse.

    Started Xeloda Nov/07. Reduced dose until redness mild and tingling in hands & feet less. Tiredness improved each month, meds are working. Cancer & drugs made me tired. More energy each month! Think positive! It works!
