Hi there. Hopefu;ly they can help you find the source of your pain and i pray that it is not cancer. My father-in-law had bone pain in his back ( he's been stage 4 for over 5 yrs, so he had in a number of places. His CT and other scans came out fine. They had to do a BONE Scan to see if it was in his bones... (which it was) I'd ask about getting a bone scan. Of course I don't know much about your staging and history and of course I am no dr... I just know that's how they found it in my father in law's bones. His pain was localised though (in his back) not all over.. I hope this doesn't frighten you - I don't mean to scare you - I will keep
you in my prayers. Let us know how you are doing and keep us updated. What is your staging/dx? What treatments have you had? Possibly the pain is a side effect of treatment...
    Blessings to you...

Hi, I'm sorry that you're in such pain. Are you currently on chemo? Have you been getting Neupogen or Neulasta shots to help build up your immune system? I do know that these drugs can cause bone pain, because they stimulate the bone marrow to make white cells. My daughter had to take neupogen when she was younger because she had a low white count, and she would complain of bone pain. They said it was a side effect. Just wondering if you might be getting those drugs. I hope that you can find an answer and something that helps the pain..

My pain was all over and we did a bone scan thankfully it came back negative. However my pain persisted but it was now only in the lower back area and the area where my ovaries were. Again we did MRIs, CTs and nothing showed up. My CEA kept rising so I'm back on chemo as of last week. I take 2 morphine pills a day and I'm so glad that I'm doing chemo orally. Hope your pain goes away or you find out why you are having it.

A bone scan is the test you want. If that is negative, and hopefully it is, then some blood tests to check for inflammatory conditions or see a rheumatologist.

By any chance are you taking Actonel for osteoporosis? I had severe pain in one knee for about a week and a friend mentioned that she quit taking Actonel because of the bone pain. I checked the info I got from the pharmacy and bone pain is one of the side effects.

    HI there,

Do you happen to be anemic? I know my Hemogloben (sp) is way low this time and I'm having pain in my legs/muscles or bones. Nurse said Anemia can cause that, too so I have to have a shot (today acutally) for anemia and hopefully that will help.

While you were on Chemo,,,did you have the same pain?

It's not fun, I know and I sure am thinking of you and hope you can get an answer as to why you are in pain..

Sometimes other meds can cause pain. If you are taking anything at all, look at the side affects.
