I was sooo overwhelmed to pass this along to my family here:

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Hello, this was given to my Mother in 1976 in her last few days with cancer. I sent it to my Brother a few days before he died in 1991, and now it hangs in my kitchen.

It has helped me very much over the last 30 years.

I never get tired of reading this. what a great reminder that we are not alone, even when we feel our most isolated. Thanks for a positive reminder of God's Love.

I even have this on a bookmark...

When things got tough during treatment, I just visualized the single set of prints in the sand...

This is one of my favorite pieces!

    Thanks for sharing....

    Hugs, kathi

When my daughter was in grade school, she came across this passage (probably form my mom- a DEVOUT Catholic).
Anyway, in art class she did a plaque with a set of footprints going across it. It is in my meditation room now.
I have been working on "letting go, letting God" and "go with the flow".
I think it's time to pull this out and put it in a more prominent spot.
    Thanks for the reminder!
