Good going Duey, and hats off to you for kicking the smoking. It's probably the best thing you can do for yourself to help your body heal and fight. Stay strong...........you are in my prayers.

    Hi LLLady!

Tell Duey "Way to go!!!". You should be proud of him because it is very hard to quit. It will help him stay healthy and continue fighting the beast. Is food tasting better yet?? LOL. HUGS and have a GREAT weekend!!

Yes! I know how hard it is to quit I did 6 years ago
He say's he can smell everything, he's always saying
    "what's that smell" now
He also has some numbness and tingling in his feet
He say's his legs just don't feel right
they feel almost like he's trying wallk up a escalator
Anyone know what this might be? He's gonna see the Surgeon
    on Sept 7. I hope it's not permanent .

Sometimes in surgery there are nerves that run down the legs to the feet and they can be damaged and caused numbness anywhere along the path. My daughter had this after she had her appendix out. She had what they called "drop foot" because her one foot would drop when she tried to walk. It took a few months for that to go away, yet she still experiences some numbness on her lower calf. The nerves regrow very slowly, but they can heal. This would be one possibility to discuss with a neurologist. My daughter saw one after surgery.

Oh, yeah, and congrats to Duey for qutting (and you, too, even though it was six years ago!).

Also, I would NOT put a link to your myspace in this public forum. Certainly send it by email on this site to those who you would like to invite... I feel this is a relatively safe forum but there are just some nut jobs out there, you know, who might think it "funny" to be cruel to people in our position. That's my two cents!

Hello there! I created a Myspace page right after I found out that I had cancer and it has been a great tool for my friends to keep in touch. I keep a journal on there that people are free to read and I have never had anyone be innapropriate on the site. You can set it up so you approve any comments that show up so nothing can get on there without your ok. Check mine out if you like. it is www.myspace.com/hmaes. I had so many people looking at it from my home town that they print my journals in the weekend paper. I thought it was a great way for others to take a glimpse into what life is like for someone fighting cancer since most people have no idea.

Congrats on the smoking cestation! Hard, but the beast LOVES smokers!

As far as myspace....I am a computer consultant. Cleaned up some trouble cause from there. Sort of the 'Wild and Wooly' site, designed for young people.

We had a problem once from one of our family here having her son (not know to her) get on and reply to a post in a rather hurtful manner. She was VERY upset after the incident...
The point being, he thought he was just being funny.....
I must agree with Patrusha. We here have been made vulnerable by the beast cancer. We consider this to be a safe haven site. Not having a problem is better than damage control after the problem. You are welcome to post, as you did, your myspace link...but I don't think putting THIS site on YOUR myspace is a good idea...
Again, my 4 cents (twice as long as Patrusha's 2 cents)
    Hugs, Kathi

Although I think this site is awesome and the people here are so helpful I would never do anything to harm anyone here So I would never post this site anywhere for fear of hateful people coming here and being hateful.
I hope you understand I was just wondering if anyone wanted to share myspace address's since I would love to have a face to go with who I'm talking to. I hope I did not cause any worries for anyone.

    LLLady,

The best place to see faces and read about the people here is the Personal Web Pages site. It is safe and you can find out a lot about some of us. Also, you can post your own personal web page for us to see. Myspace does not appeal to me.
