So yesterday I drank my stuff for my flex sigmoid. I crapped liked crazy and having a colostomy at this time is pretty rough. So I get up early drink somemore of my stuff. Take a shower, drive to the hospital get there right at 830. The nurse asks me for my name I tell her and she says I don't have you down for today. I said oh yes it's for 9am. She looks on the computer and says no we have you down for next Wednesday. Wonderful I get to drink and crap myself again next week!

Sue, look at the positive side - No one can say you are full of it!!!! Ha!

So sorry, I just couldn't resist.

I do feel for you. That's awful. Why the flex sig and not the full enchilada??

    Oh Sue honey,

I am so sorry for date confusion. I think I have made that mistake a few times myself and feel like a fool each time. Don't worry, you are right up there on my prayer list and I completely understand the need for the flex sig. Rectal cancer is different from colon cancer for testing. I had a colostomy bag and with rectal cancer, I think it makes it harder for the testing to pick up the **** cells. I know testing has missed mine a few times.

And you are not an idiot, you are my friend.

    Sue,
I am sorry you had to go throgh this trouble for nothing. But on the positive side you did not have to suffer through sigmoid and wait for results. And I guess, it is good to clean your intestines anyway. You may want to make it a habit to call your clinic the day before your appointment to just make sure that nothing is wrong, rescheduled, etc. and then start drinking if they confirm your appointment.

    Best wishes for next week.

You know, Sue, that people used to take 'high colonics' for their HEALTH quite often....sigh...I am sorry you have to suffer twice....

    Sue -

I'm sorry... I am sitting here laughing my **** off... I feel bad for you, but I can see myself doing exactly the same thing. If I don't have my damn PDA with me, I am LOST!

Maybe if you just eat broth and drink water between now and then?

Anyway, thanks for sharing that chuckle. They say memory os the second thing to go... I can't seem to recall what the first thing to go is...

    Oh Sue,

Your not idiot - at least you remembered you had an appointment. . . Last month I forgot my check up and had to wait 3 weeks for another appointment. Look at the bright side at least you had a good clean out.

That's very humble of you to share that story with us. I have mixed up appointments several times. It happens to the best of us. I'm sure when all of this is over you will look back and have yourself a good laugh.
