Thanks for all the responses. I am very nerveous about the side effects ... I took several chemo drugs in 2001 and I just felt BAD. I also think the dose my Onc has prescribed is high ... when I asked why he said it is based on surface space (size) and I am a bit large (200lbs). So ... once again thank you ...it sounds like I will be able to manage this okay.

jmears, Hi, I'm Don. I was on Xeloda for a couple of years, 2800 mg a day to start then reduced to 2500 mg when I threw up a few months after taking it. Other than that one time I never had nausea again. And I never lost my hair. I was quite surprised as I had heard so many horror stories related to chemo. Wasn't a bad trip all in all. As a matter of fact I never quit work. Your hands and feet will get very sore. So sore you'll find it difficult to open doors, start your car, etc. But I survived. Let me know how you do. I'll pray for you. Good luck and God Bless.

And, actually, you may never get hand-foot syndrome symptoms. I experienced minor skin peeling on 4000mg/day after 3 cycles - dose was reduced to 3000mg/day and there was no problem whatsoever.

    Good luck,

My father-inlaw who has colon cancer (Stage IV) was told by a friend that by taking Coriolus versicolor tablets he would not feel so much side effects from chemotherapy. So far it's working!

Read this link that I have pasted below - I hope it helps!

or surf the net to find out more about Coriolus versicolor from other sites - it seems to have lots of advantages taking it.
