    Calm down alta,

It is something you are taking. Mine went up once after taking iron supplements (go figure) and chemo raised it somewhat too.

I have also heard of foods that can raise them (not sure if I believe that but have read it)

I had liver mets and was in the hospital for 3 weeks with a perforated colon and my liver counts were stellar the whole time (one of the reasons they missed my rectal tumor and it's spread). Why are you taking Arimidex? Just curious.

I was also DX this past Dec. with breast cancer...that was almost a stage 0 hahahaha I got lucky on that one...just surgery and radiation. Dr. didnt want to do chemo "just in case "we needed it later in case colon cancer decides to come back... ( IT WONT )
I need more of these responses...I almost feel great again...thanks Lisa...

I'm curious too. Did they find your breast cancer on the CT scan or did you have a mamagram. I haven't had a mam. in 2 years. Just wondered if I needed one. jams

Breathe. I am just finishing my breast ca rads, after colon cancer before. It could be just about anything...including one time when the lab pickup people drove around for 3 hours with my tube...made the results REAL wacky!!!!
    (My fav nickname is looney-lab..hehehehehe)
    That said...
Hey, we have a RIGHT to over-react...I have hip pain, and tomorrow I have a CT Scan to check for bone mets from the crc...my radonc for the breast (he did the colon, too) said "Well, we can justify a scan from your insurance...so, it's been 5 months, let's just make you a little less jumpy!" (Cool guy, took me seriously, even if just for my mental health).
Course now I have to WAIT...sigh....for the RESULTS!!!
But, I agree with Lisa...could be something you ate, or vitamins...that's why they want to do repeat tests...to rule out anything! Hey, they are doing their jobs!

    OK, jams...here comes naggy momma!
'If you are over 30, a mammogram should be done yearly, especially if there is a familiar history of breast cancer"
That said, MY breast cancer was in an 11-year-old lump...I had a mammo every year, never changed. PET scan for the colon lit up the lump...I INSISTED they biopsy...Stage IIB breast cancer...in the sentinel nodes.
The moral...know your body, if it changes, run thru heaven and hell to get it checked out...

My liver studies went up with oxaliplatin. Onc thought they'd come down by skipping a few doses. Although they came down to normal it took months. We finally resumed oxaliplatin at half dose after a couple of months, but that dose didn't keep the cancer from growing so now i'm on camptosar and erbitux. So far liver studies are ok. Just minimally elevated sometimes.

My liver counts went high on Oxaliplatin and came down when I went off. They also went up during my radiation....?? don't know why, but came back down.
