Hi all, just had to tell you what my thoughts were yesterday. I woke up at 3:00 am with a stomach virus. Had the diarhea and throwing up. It only lasted a few hours, but it got me thinking about what you all go/went through with your chemo treatments. You are all so brave! I felt like sh*% for a few hours and was feeling sorry for myself and here you all go through this for days, sometimes months. I would have kicked myself in the **** if my legs were still that flexible.

Anyway, just had to let you all know how in awe I am of you all and how brave you all are.

Linda

Thanks Linda. Cancer the disease and cancer treatments are something I don't wish on anyone. It is not fun stuff to go through.

Thanks for the sympathy pains though. I know you have gone through that already with Scot. You are the brave one.

Ouch, that sounds terrible! Hope you feel better soon! Make sure you stay hydrated, things like gatorade is good for replenishing electrolytes.

    Take good care,

Aw, Linda...don't be too hard on yourself...you hopefully will NEVER have to experience this stuff firsthand!
Last week I felt sort of rotten, and realized it was the 24 hour stomach flu...I was scared it was a reaction to the ongoing radiation....
BUT when I realized it was something a 'normal' person can get, I was sooo happy (my family thought I was NUTS....happy about being sick???) because if I can get normal people's illnesses, I must be getting BETTER!!!!
    Hugs, Kathi

    Hi Linda -

Sorry you were feeling bad. Yes chemo is no fun and you are kind to think of us. I hated chemo but actually had a relatively "easy" time with it, so I understand that guilt thing. Everytime I read of someone who got really sick or really bad neuropathy, I feel guilty, because while I did get sick some, it was relatively speaking unimportant, and my neuropathy, while intense, was acute and short-lived. Nothing long lasting.

Hats off to everyone else who has gone through / is going through chemo. It's not the greatest time, but it does end.

    Take care all,
    Betsy

It is you caregivers that I am in awe of; and you are right there on the top of my list, Linda!

You're right... chemo can be no fun and we do go through a lot but I think that the caregivers have a hard job as well. At least we get the satisfaction that we are fighting the beast. Sometimes the only think caregivers can do is "be there" and that can be frusterating because it "feels" like you aren't doing anything.

You went through a far more traumatic experience than I did. I take my hat off to you for braving the world day after day.

    Hi Linda,

Sorry you were so sick. Chemo is not fun but you had to just watch someone go through it. I think that is the hardest because there is not much you can do but be there to comfort. It is like seeing your kids sick and wish it was you so you could take away their pain. HUGS and here is to hoping you are better.

Your words are what I would expect from an "angel" Linda.......thats the best way to describe YOU! As you know Jen just went thru all the preppy stuff for colonoscopy and other related tests. It was payback time for me. Geeez....it made me sick just seeing her go thru all that. I was so scared she may have cancer...but she is ok. Jen said now she knows what a "burnin butt" feels like....lol!

Woke up at 3 AM? Sure you didn't get in at 3 AM? Linda, did you go out carousing without me??!! SHAME ON YOU!

Remember: "Liquor before beer - you're all clear. Beer before liquor - gonna be sicker."

Just a little public service announcement there...
