Hi everyone,
I will have my liver resection done on Wednesday and I would be very greatful if you could say a little prayer for me. I probably won't be on too much but will let you know how things go as soon as I can. Tomorrow is Mother's Day so I hope all mothers have a great day with loved ones. I am feeling kind of scared about all of this as I was given at first a year to eighteen months to live and now maybe have a chance to survive Stage 4. I have never given up hoping and praying for one second but I sometimes get afraid of this disease. I haven't asked God to cure me, I ask him to help me get through this one step at a time. I had my colonoscopy done on Wednesday and my doctor found nothing new. I was awake the whole time and the nurse pointed out on the screen where Dr. Browning did my resection in March..it was pretty strange but interesting. Wishing everyone well..Thank you, Audrey.

    Dear Audrey,

Prayers and good vibes on your way. My father just did a liver resection at the end of April. He is now recovering nicely. He is satge 4 with 5 liver mets. 2 tumors were taken out by Radio Frequency Ablation. He also has a pump installed (HAI). Did you read the article sent earlier by Calica? I thought the statistics were very encouraging. Patients who under go liver resection has a 71% 5-year survival rate, and this is potentially curative. The link is here if you would like to read the article.

Of course we are not just part of statistics but I still think it is encouraging.

    sending good vibes and thoughts.

    Dear Audrey,
I will pray for you - I put it on my calendar. I believe that God will take you through this. He will not leave you alone. He is with you all the way. May He do for you what doctors can not do. I wish you all the best during this surgery. Please do let us know how you are doing.

    God Bless...
    Best Regards, Eleonora

    Audrey,

I will definitely send up a few words to the "Big Guy" this week for you. Keep in mind, there are MANY stage 4s here who have accomplished SO much for SO long, and you will also have success. I think cancer was truly a way of waking us all from the stupor we call life, and showed us all how to really LIVE each day. It's all about the quality! It taught me that some days, it's ok to spend the day in your "jammies" playing Barbies with your 6 yr old....even if you get stuck with the KEN DOLL EVERY STINKING TIME!....you get the picture!

Take each day to its fullest,

    Stacy

    Hi Audrey,

I will be thinking of you on Wednesday and sending good vibes. I try to think of each thing as a stepping stone on the way to recovery. Cry a little that it has to be done but then know that this is what is needed to stay around for my 4 young children. HUGS and know we will all be thinking of you.

    Audrey,
I will warm up the OR table for ya, my dear! I am sending all sorts of BIG HUGS and GOOD VIBES and prayers to you...I KNOW things will go well.
As far as scary, I remember my last words before going under for my resection: sitting on the table, face in a pillow (doing my epi) I said "I am a little frightened", and the scrub nurse hugged me and said "Don't worry, my dear, we will take very good care of you".
    Hugs, Kathi

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Before and during my surgery on 4-21-06, I had people praying for my family and me...I know it worked because I was very calm leading up to the surgery. I will pray for you to have the calm I was blessed with and also the strength to handle the days ahead. Positive thoughts and huggies are headed your way! Joyce

    HI Audrey,

I just wantedto chime in to again say that I had liver re-section done in January of this year. I too was very scared. The surgery and recovery turned out to be a lot easier than I thought. (In fact the rectal re-section was harder in my case)

    You're in my thoughts....

    Audrey,

Sending all the good wishes, vibes, and power I can.... just try to sit back and relax and let the pros do their thing.

May the surgery be sucessful, and low on pain. May you recover quickly. Best attitude in the world... one step at a time.... hope all your steps are beautiful giant ones.
