    Cherri,

I finished my 6 weeks of radiation treatments about 2 months ago. Toward the end it was really tough going, but remember you are a fighter and a good fight is what you must do. Think of how good you will feel when it is all over! During each radiation treatment think of how many of those awful cancer cells you are killing.

Stay strong - you are almost finished. I'll be sending good vibes your way.

Don't despair...my husband was totally knocked out by the end of his radiotherapy. He was hospitalised three times in the last two weeks and was increasingly ill on each admission. However, less than one month after treatment finished, we travelled back home to The Bahamas....thousands of miles! Our children doubted he was fit to make the trip but he was fine. Just to encourage you....it will not take too long when treatment finishes for you to start feeling better.

Hang in there....it is nearly over!

    Hi Cherri!

5 to go...no problem!! You'll be done before you know it. Hang in there and be very kind to yourself.

I suffered from hand-foot syndrome during my 6 weeks of 5FU and radiation. My hands and feet were red and peeling and it was very uncomfortable to walk. I think walking actually makes it worse too.

I'm not sure if that is what you're suffering from, but mine went away quickly after I was completed.

Sending good vibes your way for these next 5 days treatments to fly by and for speedy recovery.

    Take Care,
    Maria

It's ok to whine once in awhile. Now get back up on your feet and stay strong!

    Cheriann,

It's okay to feel discouraged, and don't be sorry about coming to this site to vent. That is what we are here for! I know it is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but in your case, it sounds like your getting closer to being finished with your treatments. Just don't give up. When you are finally done with your treatments, you can celebrate and feel a sense of accomplishment. No, I'm sure it's not easy to go through all of this, but I'm sure you have the strength to stick it out.

    Hang in there!!!

    cherri,
hugs to you my dear! I am reminded of the days you are living, because I am living mine once again, this time for breast cancer. I was surprised on Tuesday at my reaction to the 'positioning' scans...sad, and remembering how frightened I was when it was the colon cancer. I thought because I was an 'old hand' at this, that the radiation would be easy (33 days this time, 25 last time). But, it doesn't change. Still a big, scary machine! But, you are almost done, and then the healing starts! Yea for you! Just think, when you are done, you don't have to be tied to that piece of equipment ANY MORE!
I will think good thoughts as I take my rads...sisters in a different place!
    Hugs, Kathi

    Cherri,

You can do this. You will get through this. I remember thinking I will never get better. I will never feel normal.

I did get better, I feel great. But it has taken a long time to feel this way.

Hang in there, you will get through this.

Cherri: I've completed 20 chemo/radiation. My radiation/oncologist gave me a 2 week "vacation" because I was having such a hard time with diarrhea. My butt was in really bad shape using sitz baths and oddles of corticone creams didn't help much.
1st week off radiation I was really sick, vomiting and going to the bathroom continuously. Week 2 I started to notice a BIG IMPROVEMENTG yippee I felt so good I went and had my hair cut and got a pedicure. The downside is that I still have to go back and finish the treatment still 5 to go. The UPSIDE is that I now know that I'll bounce back!!!
