edited March 2014 in Colorectal Cancer #1
Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted in a while. I've had a lot going on at home and have been really down.
Originally diagnosed March 2004 with rectal cancer, a large tumor, but no other involvement. I did 5-1/2 weeks of radiation and chemo(xeloda), then surgery resulting in a permanent colostomy and 6 more months of chemo(xeloda). Had a recurrence in October 2005 in my lung and have been on Folfox ever since. I am now completing my 9th session. A pet/ct scan last week shows no evidence of cancer anywhere in my body! Yeah! I will finish a total of 12 sessions of chemo and have more scans. If they show nothing then I'll go off chemo and continue to be monitered. I am very excited though a little leary as I never expected such good results.
I have also had my house up for sale and am about to accept an offer so I'll be packing up after 22 years of accumulated junk and finding a smaller place to live. Way too much change for me!
I hope everyone is doing ok and staying positive!
Take care,
Jamie

take it and run with it! I also just moved my life and downsized..it's an improvement, and gives me more freedom to do what I want without all that "stuff" controlling me. Bud

    Hi Jamie,

It's good to hear from you again and to learn about your excellent progress. May your new home be a springboard for new beginnings and may all your future scans continue to be NED.

    Hugs,

    Kay

    Hi Jamie! I'm a newbie.
Congrats!...I'm coming up to my first "yearly" scope in April...diag 11/04 stage II. Busy with breast ca in between. Cancer REALLY sorts out our lives for us, doesn't it.
Good luck for all future scans and the 'downsizing'!

    hi jamie,
great news and thanks for sharing with all of us .
it's normal to be down sometimes, heck we all go thru that.
i know about the junk i have moved 12 years ago and there are still boxes i have not opened up, i guess i should throw them out.
well hopefully after you take care of the house you will have time for your self to relax and enjoy the great news.
    all the best

    Jamie, what wonderful news!!!!

I have rectal cancer too, with lung mets - just got one surgically removed from the left side - scheduled to get the other one removed. AND - my house went on the market this week.

    We are twins!! :)

I only hope I can share your NED news soon enough. Until then, celebrate for me and drink one in my honor.

Thank you sooo much for sharing this news with us. We need it.

    Continue your positive path! jana
