Anyone heard of a Tissue Expander Breaking During Removal Sugically?

I had surgery 2 weeks ago to have an infected tissue expander removed. The tubing that connects the port to the tissue expander broke, the doctor left this part inside me! I cannot believe that it is still there. He says this is the least of my worries right now. Does anyone have any experience with this one?
