On June 17 I asked "Does Anyone else have this problem?" I had pain in my ribs and my breast was continuing to indent and pucker a little below my lumpectomy incision. Wimpy said she was having the same problem and asked me to keep in touch. My Medical Onc ordered a bone scan and a chest xray. Both showed negative for mets. My med onc said it's probably inflamation between the ribs. It was time for my checkup with my regular physican so I asked her for her opinion and she agreed with the med onc. Neither said anything about the indention in my breast and I forgot to ask again. Today I had my checkup with my Radiation Onc so I asked him. He said he hears many woman complain about rib pain on the surgery side even before radiation but also two years after the radiation. He is going to look at the bone scan films himself to make sure it's not a hair-line fracture. He said this is also a common thing to happen even though it's been 2 years since I had the radiation. He also said it could be inflamation in the ribs caused from the radiation. He had the best explaination yet. I also asked him about the indention and puckering. He said it's uncommon for so much indenting to happen but it does happen. The surgery incison is pulling inwards. He has seen it before and I shouldn't worry since my mammogram was OK six months ago. - It's nice to hear from 3 doctors that everything is normal.
