recurrance of bc on breast incision scar?

I have heard a rash on the breast incision scar could mean a cancer recurrance. How about a lesion which looks like a pimple or boil on the scar?

    I had both breasts removed in 2003 but continue to worry that it could return on my scars. Articles I've read say it can appear as a small lump which often goes undetected for some time because it's mistaken for a leftover stitch or scar tissue from the original operation. Have it checked immediately, even if the odds are in your favor that it's nothing serious. Good luck.

    I had a lesion that looked like a pimple and went to the oncologist, who sent me to the breat surgeon, who sent me to the ultrasound technician, who did a biopsy and it was fat necrosis. Nothing to worry about, but I did worry for about a month while I was going between doctors. I'd definately get it checked out, but hopefully yours is the same as mine! Sandi

    Hello Sue!

    I'd never heard of the cancer recurrance/scar thing but I did have a bump appear on my incision line *2* years after surgery. T'was a left-over, non-absorbed stitch.
    Of course, being the type I am, I worked at it and eventually pulled it all out m'self. Not long after the surgery, my plastic man had pulled some troublesome stitches from under the skin for me... This time I decided I'd just do it m'self. *laughs*
    The stitch in question was firm, raised, red, irritated (by clothing).

    May it be so simple for you, Sue! Surely it is!!!
