I have put off posting for some time, but here goes. I completed my chemotherapy (AC, then T) about a year and a half ago. I became very anemic (which is normal) and had extreme side effects from Taxotere and was changed to Taxol for the last two sessions. I had peripheral neuropathy in hands and feet. Hands are about back to normal and still have some residual neuropathy in feet. It is much better now. Now here is my problem: The muscles in my legs are so weak and it seems to me it is getting worse all the time. I exercise, walk, and the things I think will help but it is getting so bad that I can hardly get up from a chair. I am 54 years old and I feel like I am 85. Is this continued weakness from the chemo? or should I start looking for other answers? HELP!!

Hugs for you mosis. I had joint pain and fatigue for the first 2 years after chemo. I had lupron shots and am still on tamoxifen. You should ask your doctor about it. Best wishes to you.

Thanks for your posting. You should always check with your doc if you have a concern. I had trouble getting out of chairs and still do, but I always sit in chairs with arms so I can help boost myself out of a chair using my arms. I will also choose the taller recliner in our living room....the higher up the chair is, the easier it is to get out of it. They have chairs that will boost you up at medical supply stores. I tried one out and it was wonderful. I never purchased it though cause I could tell I was improving and they are spendy. I finished all of my treatments in Sept of 04 and still have trouble today. Good luck!

one year after treatment I have muscle weakness. Help!

I am 58 now ,had and treated for stage III ovarian cancer. Now after my chemotherapy was over in June 2012 ,I am still on Avastin for as long as I live. After various kinds of Physical therapy and exercises I have muscle weakness in my body and find it hard to function on my ADL. My NP advised me Massage and accupuncture. I would like more input on this please. If someone can guide me it will of great help.

    Thank you

Hi, just wondering if you are

Hi, just wondering if you are on a statin drug. One of the side effects according to mayoclinic.com. Just a thought. Hope you find an answer and recover completely.

    What are statin side effects?

    Muscle pain and damage
The most common statin side effect is muscle pain. You may feel this pain as a soreness, tiredness or weakness in your muscles. The pain can be a mild discomfort, or it can be severe enough to make your daily activities difficult. For example, you might find climbing stairs or walking to be uncomfortable or tiring.
