Numb hands forever?

I just finished radiation today! But still the numb hands from Taxol. Just during sleep and early morning. Will I have this forever? Will my Oncologist ever admit it is a long term side effect? (He thinks it's carpul tunnel!).

    Your numb hands are caused by the taxol its a side affect called neuropathy. my dad has it in his hands and feet. There is a pill they can give you i think its called neurotin? But my dad had to get off of taxol because of the side affects were so bad so they put him on something else. But being off taxol for about 6 months its better but still there a little bit but worse in his feet, His doctor said sometimes it goes away or it dont.But how long were you on taxol? I think it depends on how long you were on it to the effect how fast it goes away Good Luck hope this helps. Kodi

    First... congratulations on finishing radiation. I was just browsing, a co worker just found out she has brest cancer when I noticed your post. I finished chemo for colon cancer last Feb.One of the side effects from my treatment was neuropathy in my hands and feet. Thankfully it went away in my hands, but unfortunately I still have it in my feet, although it is getting better slowly but surly. I have found accupuncture to be very helpful.
