I have a good question .How long is the effects of chemotherapy inside our system ? I went to work on Tuesday morning and every joint in my system hurt and I had the chills and nausea so I came home and called the doctors office and told them my symptoms and they told me to come in I have a raging bladder infection and I mean it came on all of a sudden I had no Idea that it could make the joints hurt all over so I was given a shot for the fever and also my joints hurt so bad . Also I have a problem every month it burns when I urinate does any one have this problem afer going through treatments.

You didn't say when you finished chemo, but the chills and nausea would not be from chemo if you finished even a month ago, I wouldn't think. A lot of us continue to have joint pain. A lot of it is caused by medication that we're taking. But I've never had the burning sensation you're talking about. I think the nausea, chills and burning are totally separate from the joint pain. Good luck.

With chemo, in my opinion anything is related. My suggestion is if you have more treatments in the future make sure you drink lots of water the day before, day of treatment and the day after.
    God bless.

Hi Marylin, I had bladder infections for about 3 months after and believe that I had them during treatment too. I was undiagnosed. They kept saying the chemo will make your bladder burn. Yeah well so does a bladder infection. I did 5 rounds of antibiotics and I haven't had one since. I knew in my gut it was from the chemo, they wanted me to see a urologist but I have crappy insurance and I felt that it was from the chemo. I haven't had any trouble since and none before so I believe that it was the chemo. We had a discussion on these boards about it about 6 months ago. The bladder infections are more common than the docs keep track of. Hope you feel better soon!
