After almost 5 years, cancer has returned. A cancerous node was found in my lower right neck under the clavical area on the opposite side of the original beast cancer. I do not know what the primary source is yet. I am in the middle of tests and waiting for my oncologist the let me know the results and where we go from here. I am scared beyond words. I feel as if cancer is now in every part of my body. Anyone experienced similar problems.

    Hi HollyTraci,
Sorry to hear about your breast cancer returning. I had uterine cancer in Aug. 2000. I just wanted to let you know that there is another treatment for cancer patients. It is called IPT, which is short for Insulin Potentiation Therapy. The effects are alot milder then traditional chemo therapy and the cure rate is higher. Here is a website you can read about it, www.caringmedical.com. Go under therapies and find insulin potentiation therapy (IPT). Just another option. Also there are only a few doctors in the United States that are giving IPT treatments. Keep a positive attitude and do not always listen to the traditional doctors. I have done so much reading and research since I had cancer and was shocked how many other therapies and tests people can have that the doctors do not tell us about. God Bless.

I can only imagine how you must be feeling right now but you need to believe this can be treated. Millions of women have survived a second cancer or a reoccurance of their original. My friend, Leslie, from our local Reach to Recovery group, was just diagnosed with 3 lymph nodes positive for cancer 2 years after her original surgery. Last fall she went through breast reconstruction and everything looked good. She is also frightened but has a wonderful attitude. She reported to the group that her doctors have told her it will be a difficult battle but definitely beatable. She begins radiation immediately, as the area is in a different location from her original treatment site, and will repeat chemo after. She's dusted off her wig, affectionately named Fluffy, and is determined to get through the upcoming months. So many prayers will be with her every step of the way as they will be for you. Let us know how you are doing and if there's anything we can do to help.

Hi HT, I'm abbrev 'cause my arm is broke and hurts to type. I had breast cancer 6/00 w/ recurrance 8/01 opposite breast, bone metastasis 8/01 to arm and 10/01 to low back. Bone met in arm became active again 10/03 and they radiated it again...that's when it broke. My tumor markers have been going up since 12/2001 and I have a spot in my neck and mid back on bone scan that does not show up on MRI. Praise the Lord!
I tell you all of this to make a point, the cancer can be all over your body and not grow.
I feel I am living proof of that, and for me, it is by the grace of God.

I'd love for you to come visit. Read the front page, it's long (can you imagine that? LOL I am a bit wordy, even when injured!) It tells of how I dealt with my cancer and fear is one of the issues I address. Fear can be dangerous thing and needs to be controlled.
Leave a message on the board and we will pray for you if you want us to.
Take heart, God is good and faithfull, everything will be just fine! (((HUGS))) hummingbyrd

Thanks to all that replied to my message. I will keep you informed after all tests are completed and treatment is determined. I fear the worst but pray for the best. I never knew that talking to complete strangers could help one feel better.

Hi there. I just read your message and I too have had my breast cancer return to one cancerous node at my collarbone. My doctor has decided to be very aggressive and I'm doing 6 months of chemo and 4 weeks of radiation. All scans show that the rest of my body is clear. I pray everyday that we caught this very early. Trust me, you will be ok. Look at it as another journey, I'm almost done, five months out of 6. Take care and good luck! Lisa
