I HAVE BEEN READING ALL THE DIFFERENT MESSAGES WITH THE NHL GROUP. IT'S NICE TO HEAR OTHERS WITH NHL RESULTS . I HAVE BEEN IN REMISSION SINCE NOV 2003. WONDERING HOW LONG OTHERS HAVE BEEN IN REMISSION. I HAVE NHL LOW GRADE / STAGE 1 / SMALL FOLLICULE / CLEAVED. I WAS TREATED 8 TIMES WITH CHEMO / RITUXIN CHOP . HOW LONG DOES REMISSION LAST??? IF ANYONE HAS HAD CHOP THERAPY AND IN REMISSION, PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW LONG BEFORE RELAPSE. THANK YOU SO MUCH, JOHN

hi there John, I really cannot answer your question but I also did take chops and Rituxin.I had 6 treatmens. I had stage 4, NHL. I had tumors in my liver, kidney, ovaries,up and down aorta, also NHL in lymph nodes and in bones. In remission for 6 months now. Low grade/stage 4/small cleaved/B cell. I hope you all the best. Good Luck and God Bless You and your family.

I was diagnosed with NHL stage 4, which had spread to liver/spleen/bone. Diagnosed in July 2003, and by November I was designated to be in remission. None of us really want to think about the odds, but the reality as they told my wife and I was it would be back. Sometimes years. Sometimes tens of years. Sometimes so far in the future, you will be prone to some other problem of old age illness. You can not dwell on it. Eveything in your life changes and you do get to the point of appreciating every small piece of life (I cried like a fool in the stands yesterday at my daughters cheerleading competition, as I was not supposed to see it).
The clinic I go to here in Michigan has me on a maintenance program, with plans to do a series of 8 Rituxin in May. Recent scan and blood work is OK. They believe that treating via maintenance before it shows is better than reacting (I do not relish those 3 hours sits but I tend to agree with their logic).

Dear John, I was diagnosed in 1996 with diffuse large b cell and I had 8 rounds of CHOP and I have been in remission ever since! Yet, it's with me everyday...you know? One day at a time
