Gypsy Book

Hi everyone, I have been reading a book about gypsies during the holocaust.It is about a clan of gypsies that try to escape being sent to a concentration camp but end up getting caught. In one part all the gyspies heads are shaved. The young woman who the author of the story was marrried to comes toward him with her hands trying to hide her head. The author was surprised that of all things she was worried about her hair and when it would grow back....compared to all the horrows of being there in the concentration camp.....I guess all of us woman are alike....We love our hair
I read another story once where 3 sisters where also in a concentration camp and when their heads where shaved they all became as one because it was hard to distinguish who was who.....I love true life stories in particular ww2 stories about people who survive....If anyone is interested in this gypsy book it is tittled"And The Violins Stopped Playing" by Alexander Ramati.
