    Hi Kittycats,
I was dx the same in April with one node positive. I think that Oncologist are very aggressive in treating bc and they want to give you every possible chance in decreasing the risk for reoccurance. I finished chemo 6 weeks ago and started tamoxifen and now radiation. How big was your tumor? Even though they think they get it all, they are concerned about any cells that may have escaped, at lease this is how I understand it, so hence the reason for the very aggressive treatment.
Good luck with your chemo. One thing I have sure found out is this is the place to help you through it all. There are so many wonderful people here with great help and advise..good luck!

Hi Kitty ,did you have a lumpectomy,or a mastectomy? I also was stage 1, with invasive ductal carcinoma and no nodes. I had a mastectomy on my right side and a tramflap ,but no treatments were needed, but I do take natural meds, and eat right, and stay fit. Some times they get a bit to crazy with the treatments, but you are in charge of your own body, ask as many questions you want, don't be afraid. GOD BLESS JAN

The tamoxifin is for the fact that you were ER/PR positive. The tamoxifin will help with holding the estrogen at bay, so to speak. If your having radiation, I assume that you had a lumpectomy? I had a mascetomy, so I didn't have to have the radiation. The Her2Neu postive is a marker on reoccurance. Do you know what number you were, 1,2,3 positive. The chemo will get any cancer cells that could have escaped. Also what was your Tubular Differation, Nuclear Grade, Mitotic Rate, Those combined together will give your tumor a overall score. Your tumor might have been very aggressive even though it was small. There is so much to learn. ASK YOU DR. Lots of Questions. Hang in there. Cammie

    lots of depression
Hi everyone, I just wonder if anyone gets as depressed as I do.I went through a divorce ,remarried and now going through chemo.My16 year old is talking to me but my 18 year old doesn`t want to. All of my struggles are almost too much. When I look at myself with no hair ,I can hardly bare it. I just want to sleep all the time and have a hard time getting myself started for work. I tend to miss at least one day a week.I can`t keep an interest in anything .I am worried ,i take 2 anti -depressants a day. Has anyone out there experienced so many different trials at the same or near the same time?
