I had a new cancer in February and went through a total of 4 chemo treatments . There are times my heart beats to fast is this because of the chemo treatments that I took and I still find out I tire out easy . I shouldn't get tired still I had my last chemo treatment on the 10th of June. the thing that I find out that has been helpful to me is take one day at a time and trust in God. We are not alone . We are going through a storm in our lives and it is alright to be scared during the storm read John 6:14-21 . Also we all have family that care about what we go through and are here to help us through the hard times .

Hi, glad to see you are done with chemo. I think it is perfectly normal that you get tired, your body has been through a great deal . Don't feel bad, if you are tired take it easy, I do. Your body will let you know. It will take a while to regain full strength. Like you say, take it 1 day at a time and trust in God, the ultimate healer.
You say you had a new cancer in Feb., did you have cancer before? Did you have chemo treatments then? Tell a little more about your self . I wish you well, god bless you. Love emmi

My heart rate has been elevated ever since chemotherapy treatments started, and the word tired does not do justice to the effect of chemotherapy on one's ability to perform even ordinary activities of daily living. It does take a while to regain your stamina and spunk. Be patient with yourself. No one has snapped back to their previous energy levels within a month and a half. But, hun, CONGRATULATIONS on completing a very arduous course. Hugs, Denise

Emmy.I had breast cancer 13yrs ago in November 1989 and went through Chemo treatments. Didn't loose my hair then like I did this time. I'm married to a wonderful supporting husband and have two dogs . I also have a very supporting family on both sides.Like you say God is the ultimate healer and he takes care of us we are his children . He has purposes for us in life even though we do not know what they are. We are not alone in our fight with cancer we are in it together and there are alot of women with breast cancer and they are not alone in their fight. God is with them and so are we. We are going through a storm in our lives and it is alright to be scared but always trust in god.John6:14-21 it talks about the storm. Love Marilyn

You're going to be fine. Just have to take it one day at a time and be gentle with yourself. You've been thru Hell and back and you have to give you and your body time to heal. If you need to talk - just email me - I'm 14 years out and it's been rough but I';m still alive and able to see my son grow up. God bless you and I'll remember you in my prayers.

    Hounddog,
I only had 8 weeks of radiation - no chemo (after 2 surgeries)and my docs said it'd be 18 months (at least) before I'd get energy back!!! Because of where my breast cancer was located, we couldn't avoid some lung damage during radiation, and that, too, contributes to fatigue.
Definitely continue to trust in God, but DON'T take one "day" at a time -- take one "moment/second/instant/task" at a time!!!
I found making "lists" helps me a lot -- I promise myself a "rest" after each task is completed (and I TAKE IT!). Sample list?
    1.) sheets off the bed
    ...rest
    2.) sheets to the washer
    ...rest
    3.) sheets to the dryer
    ...rest
4.) sheets out of the dryer and to the bedroom
    ...rest
5.) clean sheets back on the bed

WOW!!! I just completed 5 tasks!!!! Good day for you, kim!

...wash dishes, rest, dry dishes, rest, dishes away.... WOW! another 3!!!!!

During "rest" time, I sometimes feel like I'm vegetating! (or I research the net and try to learn more). Other times, I get motivated and start on the next task on my list.
Believe it or not, I even set timers! I WILL work for at least my 15 minute timer - hey, who can't take "sheets off" in 15 minutes - and then I set a 5 minute rest timer.
Every day - EVERY day - I put on my list of "things to do today" to get out of my house(?) and "go for a walk." (it's a "task," so the 15 minute timer is set). It allows me time to be "together" with me and my cancer......not to dwell on it, but to analyze what we did "together" that day --- wow! 5 tasks on the bed, another 3 on the dishes -- hey, we even got through 2 of the five items in the living room! (1. dust table one by the couch, 2. dust table two at the other end of the couch 3.) dust coctail table, 4.) dust tv stand/entertainment center, 5.) dust ceiling fan!!!!
Hey, it was a darn good day, wasn't it?
    ....Many a day, my list is left incomplete...so, tomorrow's list will read "see Monday's list"........and if I get to it, I will, if I don't, I don't.
My list will likely be different than yours now, as I'm a deployed soldier to the middle-east, but I went through treatment in the US..... and I STILL KEEP my lists.
Tired? Yes, I'm tired. Some days I'm sooooooooo tired, that if I get a day off I actually put on my list, 1.) wake up, 2.) shower, 3.) comb hair and get dressed!!!!
If nothing, nothing else, it allows me to cross off "accomplishments" for the day!!!
All the best to you........and may God Bless you when you cross off "wake up" on your "to-do list" today!!!!!!!!!
I just added to today's "list" to 29.) Read John 6:14-21. So, I may just go and get my Bible and get a "task" done while resting!!!
Again, all the best to you.

To hounddog-you will be fine. listen to your body. I know in one group session that I went to they (Dr's) said that sometimes try to work through being tired. Go for a walk. You might want to try that but I found out that the best thing is to again...listen to your body. I finished chemo and radiation (33 treatments) over a year ago. I still believe that the effects from radiation are more lasting. Stiff arm, sore breast etc. I wish you well. God bless.
