I made it! Today was my last radiation treatment and I am now 3 hours out of cancer treatment. As soon as that radiation machine turned off the tears just ran down my face into my ears. I had arranged for the wonderful people who stood by me, held me up and let me cry for the last 9 months to come by my office and have a cup of champagne in celebration. So much of my ordeal was made bearable by the love and comfort they afforded me.

My first order of business now is TO HEAL. So much of my energy has been spent just getting through each step of the way. Now I can concentrate on the healing because "they" are not going to be hurting me anymore. I had the best doctors, technicians and support group, but there is nothing like being Done With It. Sometimes when I think back on the surgeries, the chemo and the radiation, it seems that I am viewing a movie about someone else's life, that it couldn't possibly have happened to me. But here I am, cancer free and ready for the rest of my life.

I felt I had to share this mixture of feelings with you all here on the board -- the ones who have made it through, and the ones who are still traveling. I made it -- so can you! Love & hugs & good cheer all around!

What a wonderful idea to have a champagne gathering upon completion of treatment! Congratulations on successful completion of your treatment! And most of all, thank you for taking the time to share the moment with us. I have just completed Adriamycin/Cytoxan... on to the taxotere for 8 cycles; then, the radiation. But you know what? There is a beginning, a middle and an END. Your reminder will always be my favorite. I'm going downstairs to mark CHAMPAGNE on the calendar for December. Love, Denise

Congratulations!! You've been an inspiration to someone who just went through an "I can't do this" weekend. I will be where you are some day. Heal, be well, enjoy everything life has to offer you.
