Hi I am on my 13th radiation and am having sharp pains in breast and much more numbness under arm where I had 14 lymph nodes removed. Dr. says this is normal. Is it.? Thanks DG 51

Yes I am afraid so, many of us suffer these kinds of pains. In a small number of us the pains continue long after the treatments are done. I urge you to keep track of them and continue to bug your doctors because in some instances it is due to problems, side affects that will continue to haunt you. Often time doctors would like us to think that your anxiety can be the cause of such pains when in fact there are many physical reasons for this. Nerves have fun with us trying to rejuvinate after such traumatic surgeries and treatments to our bodies. Often time the doctors in charge of treatments more concerned about getting the treatment phase of things done before addressing other issues. Remember that you know your body better than anyone and listen to it. I did and finally got my pain addressed and it turned out to be more than just side affects while having treatments. Hang in there and you are your best advocate. No one should have to suffer in this day and age, I truly believe.
    Good luck,
    Be good to yourself,
    Tara

Thank you Tara for your words of comfort and information. I have spoken to my Dr. many times about pain and will see her today. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Good Health to all. Deborah
