Wonder when they will be able to find it before we have to have such drastic treatments. You have found a great place to lay your fears and be supported by many good women who know just how you are feeling. I was 36 when dx's with aggressive form and had 11 out of 21 nodes positive. It has now been 6 years since that day and finally found my way back to land of the living.
It is extremely difficult on women with children since I had a angry teen at the time. The stresses almost like feel you'll never get through them but we do. I found this board to be a good place to dump my feeling since we always want to spare those we love from our pain. I have been coming her almost 2 years now and am so grateful I went outside myself to get the help I needed.
Hope to catch you in chat one day.
    Be good to yourself always,
    Tara

    Hi,
I was diagnosed in Nov. 2001 at age 37. My kids were 5 and 8 at the time. I went through lumpectomy, 6 months of chemo, 7 weeks of radiation, and now am on Tamoxifen for 5 years. I would love to talk with you any time. You can e-mail me at llange@execpc.com, or you can always post here and your questions will get answered. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

    Miracle Mom:
I'm a little older -- 46 --have 3 girls... and like you, were scared of how this would effect my kids.
I found out I had breast cancer 4 days before my second daughter graduated high school. It was a tough time -- so we were not only crying at graduation for joy but also for what was in the future.

Dealing with each of my kids has been a little different. I have 3 daughters who experienced various feelings throughout my treatments. They all were a different emotional levels at the time -- a 20 year old - she went to the dr with me - to hear what was going on, even got her to feel the lump before it was removed...sounds weird, but I want her to know what to was to feel a real lump. My middle daughter (18) was scared, but didn't want to talk about it. All she asked was "are you going to die". She seemed angry about it most of the time..she was worried about me...I think she thought it would go away if she avoided it. My youngest - 15 - I couldn't ever get her to talk about it. She wasn't ready to deal with the possibility of me being gone.

It was harder for the younger two girls because they were at home and saw what the chemo did to me. My oldest daughter didn't have the opportunity to listen to me as I got sick or to watch me lay on the couch because I felt too bad to do something

One thing I've learned -- don't worry about what you think should be done in your house. Just focus on you....the stuff and work will always be there....take time for you. If you'd like to email me -- jeret@diodecome.nrt

I'm 32 years old, and have also had my right breast removed. Finished with the chemo and radiation last July, and was put on tamoxifen, which has given me some problems. Got 3 kids as well--1 girl (7), 2 boys (5 & 3). Had just stopped nursing when I got the news. Hair's growing back in pretty good, and back to volunteering at school, and raising my babies without assistance. Working through some issues, but can't complain much.

Would love a to try the chat out here, and emails would be great: kei6470@rochester.rr.com
