I need help with a book (m)

Hello, my name is Heather Head and I am not a cancer victim, but my heart goes out to all of you who are struggling with this disease. I'm posting to request your help.

I am writing web copy for a group that is going to be publishing an inspirational book of true cancer survivor stories. Right now, they are soliciting stories from cancer survivors who would like to help others by having their story published in the book, which will be called "Letters from America." What I want to know is what I can say on that web site's home page to encourage people like you to send your stories in. Do you want to inspire people? Do you want to help others? Or is it more a matter of wanting to have your story heard? This will help me to write compelling copy, and hopefully increase participation resulting in a better--and more inspirational--book.
