AMS 800 artificial urinary sphincter

Regarding the position of the pump, prior to surgery I went to the AMS website and found both the patient’s instruction sheet and the step-by-step instructions for the urologist to follow for installation. Somewhere in there I read about the need to pull down on the pump each day to make sure it stays in the proper location. The day after the surgery the nurse called to check on me and told me the same thing. It was difficult to do with all the swelling but it is now located in the correct position.

Low in the scrotum, along side it’s “buddies.” Mine tends to ride behind the right one but is easily moved forward when operation it.
